well i just got wireless internet about a month or 2 ago but first it was working ok but everytime someone got on the phone i got disconnect but when i got disconnected my computer wouldnt restart on its own , now it restarts on its one everytime i get disconnected and a blue screen comes up saying something about ar5ll iono something like that , . grr its annoying and iono what to do and i called the company before they dont do sh**.
any suggestions? |

Well if you have DSL, than the disconection when someone get's on the phone could be caused by noise on the line. You may have a bad filter or two, if you have any. The computer problem may be caused by a virus or the internet disconection.

yea i have filters, can you purchase filters at like best buy or somethin? because i might decide to buy new ones
that fact thats my computer is restarting iono what to do i got virus protection stuff on my computer. |

If it's DSL, I think you should call and order new filters even if it's not DSL, do the same.

She does not need phone filters she is on Wireless, did you not read. She is on wireless. If you don't HAVE dsl and your using DSL filters your interfering with the slot that they use for DSL users, you having a DSL filter on a line without the DSL singles coming in is just about useless. and well it is the ISP's fault because its with the internet, they are obligated to come and look at it. Call them and explain to them that you keep getting disconnected, that's what happens. They should come out and take a look at all the connections and such for you, if not you have a shitty ISP.

Your supposed to have filters on all of your phone line connections when you have DSL. They block out noise that interrupt the DSL connection. She said she has filters, so she probably has DSL.

no . i have a dsl modem , i do have dsl my dsl works , wireless dsl. I moved my dsl to my computer soo that i can go online trying to figure out a way to use my computer. last night on this one site i found out it might be my wireless card that is causing my blue screen that talks about ar5211.sys.
Then now i cant use my computer that much , i cant use IE , system restore and alot of other stuff. |

Ok well Im gunna go with d-link cuz I googled ar5211.sys and got if it is d-link go to the d-link website and look for updated drivers and or sometimes they give you something to flash your bios. |

ok i redownloaded it , and the whole bluescreen restart thing stopped well it hasnt came yet . soo thanks
sorry for all the questions but one more: do you know if there is anyway i can get my system restore to work again? now it wont work and all. |

You mean that when you click it it will not do anything? Is there a restore disk you can insert? You could also reinstall Windows if you have the CD I think.

umm i have the restore dics but dont they restore your whole computer by deleting all your files?
when iclick restore once then nothings happens then when i click it a second time then it will pop up but it will be a blank white screen and nothing will ever happen. i dont think i can re-install windows i dont have a cd for that or do you mean like delete sp2 and re-donwload & install that. |

i have the same connection , my connection is fine now , and yea i have filters
i just need to know how to get my stystem restore to work . its not working anymore. |

What brand of laptop is it, if its a HP or Compaq the Restore disks are in a partition on the HD.

Well if you dont get the blue screen anymore than dont worry about it. and dont go out and buy new DSL filters there is no need for it, just make sure that all phones are on a DSL filter.

yea , but i kinda needa restore it because nothing will work for me anymore other than firefox everything else started messing up yesterday , and i was going to restore then resetup the D-link w/ the link above setup thing . but the restore wont work .
edit// well someone can close this now - i just sent all the files i need to my other computer and i deleting everything off this oen and im going to send the files back . thank you guys soo much for your help. |
