I'm getting sick and tired of all this coverage over missing young white people/women. You never see any other race getting this much coverage. RIght now that chick that went missing in the tropics or something is getting a crap load.

Don't you guys ever notice that, they're all white. Also, how the news is very biased. I googled some articles about it from nbc and stuff...it's so unfair

This is off-topic, I know...but that runaway bride lives near me. A couple of my friends know her.

Where I live, they show a lot of people that are missing on the news ( Not only white people...other races, too). The ones that end up being federal cases ...well, most of the are white. =/ Er...I still don't know. Maybe that people that end up getting those huge missing coverages are the ones where people are willing to put up a lot of money for it.

Local news doesnt count; it has to be on a nationwide scale, in newspapers, t.v talk shows, news stations across the effin country.

Hmm.. now that you mention it, most of the major ones have been white, but I doubt the amount of attention they get is because they're white. They usually have a more dramatic story on why they're missing, which probably draws people to the story.

The guy in the article was a USC medical student, that called his dad the same night b4 he went missing; he just vanished. And, no1 but his local stations covered it for a coupe weeks-it never got national attention.

So you're saying all ppl who go missing that arent white, are ugly? You think that people of other races didnt have their whole career ahead of them when they disappeared? UH, i think you missed the whole topic completely. I'm saying white ppl get too much coverage when they go missing and other races are ignored. Also, i'm not saying that they arent important, but that other ppl should get fair coverage because they realyl wanted to find missing ppl there'd be news around the clock. But, that's the problem dude, black ppl or any other race dont get reported missing on a nationwide scale, so white ppl can't go around saying "WHY AREN'T OUR MISSIGN PPL MISSING"

Why are some of you ganging up on the guy who started this topic? I mean, obviously, if there have been stories published concerning this then it must be an issue and it must have basis. It's not like he pulled it out of his ass to bitch about it.

And if you're going to post such an angry response, you could at least be intelligible about it. Obviously, he and the article weren't just talking which stories receive coverage but which ones receive coverage on a nationwide scale.






And here's my 2 cents. I have to agree with ikyato and the article. I read and watch the local news and they do cover stories about disappearances, kidnappings, etc. involving people of all races but those involving white people seem to get the most coverage and are more likely to become nationwide news.

Ha, I just watched some more news of that missing girl in Aruba-Natalie halloway. She has the whole effing country of aruba digging up the ground, and people scuba diving for her body.........wow.

The news i think does this when they have nothing else to report about. No bear running through a neighborhood........no car chases.........no cat stuck in an effing tree.
