What drew you into a blog, like what attracted you?

For me it was the fact that I could write something, and I could get my thoughts and opionions to people across the nation, and even the world.

I guess I like to know that people read what I say, and how I feel I also like the assurance that im not the only one with problems.

Man that sounded lame.

Well what brought you in?

I distinctly remember some chick I met in 7th grade telling me to go to her Xanga. So I did. Then she told me to sign up. So I did. Then I was addicted. And over the years I've lost and recovered that addiction. x]

Well, I remember going to the xanga of someone from school last year, and all my friends started signing up, so I guess I just went along as well.

it did...it really did. tongue.gif

i was attracted to xanga because ALOT of people at my school had one. i didn't really pay any attention but then in computer literacy, everyone kept checking their xangas so one thing led to another and then i made one. i didn't really do it to write about my life or even to make skins...i just did it to do it. x]

EDIT;; one smiley makes all the difference. sweating.gif

Hahaha, Frankie hug.gif silly. I thought what he said was intelligent. Woo.

Um... I think it was the fact that my friend had a Xanga and I thought it was a cool idea, so I wanted one. I think it was a bigger deal then because Xangas weren't as popular - I got my first one in 2003. Kind of a long time ago.

Hrm.
I just liked the idea of writing in an online journal and displaying my emotions for all to see, basically what you just said sums up what I like about blogging and Xanga.
My friends got me addicted though, I think that's a good enough explanation as to how I got Myspace and Xanga. tongue.gif

I like writing. At first I wasnt to keen on having everyone seeing what I write then I discovered the private entry option and it was all good. I have made good friends on xanga well.

In 5th grade, my really hot neighbor had an xanga. I decided to get one. (I was the first one in my school to have an xanga!) Ever since then, I've been addicted. Oh, and I remember I still had those colors that xanga already provides you with.. and when I learned the change the colors, I thought I was a genius! Man, if only I knew then what I know now.. wink.gif

The first time I found xanga was when I was just looking through my friend's aim profile and I found this like that was labelled with an "x". I clicked it and it was pretty interesting, a profile about yourself and place where you can write about anything.
I registered because I found myself to be a very interesting writer and I also registered because I noticed lots of my friends have it.

Now a days, some of those friends quit xanga and registered for a myspace.

Bleh, getting comments from a girl I loved.

Oh and, reading about her life and the such.
Then I got sucked up into it myself.... oh and the designing portion of it, too.

That's what led me here.... yep.

everyone at school kept talking about xanga (yeah yeah yeah, we're such geeks. we go to parties and wind up talking about xanga. it's just sad) so when my friend called me one time and started talking aboiut it, i finally broke down and made one. of course, one turned into like 5, because i mispelled the first one, and then i didn't like usernames i made up, but i've been with this one (my second main one) for over a year now, and now quite literally everyone i know has one, so without xanga, i would be completely isolated from all my friends

I started Myspace because I wondered what everyone was talking about whistling.gif

Shouldn't this be in more in the Designers Cafe?

Anyways, what drew me to xanga was I got to make a blog.
It was "the thing".
Plus my friends who were older had them, so I was like... "okay."

edit- oh I realized this was made about a year ago. pinch.gif

Well I met this guy named Trent on neopets years and years ago and we've been friends since. He told me to make a xanga, myspace, facebook, gia online, and other accounts so I could look at his blogs/chat to him on other things besides aim laugh.gif

So I suppose that drew me in the most? I liked writing little journals too, that was nice but I'm not good at writing journals.

I was actually one of those "first" people to get it, before it got totally popular around here. I forgot how I found out about it, but one day I just made one. And no one really read it, but I didn't care because it looked so cool, having a "website" and everything.

I preferred typing rather than physically writing out my journal entries laugh.gif

And it's so hard to find a good hiding place for my journal in my house so the "Protected/Private" feature on Xanga is useful.

Xanga was the one place where I could go rant and no one would complain.

well when i was like 10, i went to my friends house. (the same age as me) so while i was there i saw she made a xanga. well she's like "do you want one too?" and i didn't know wth it was so i was just like.. uhh sure. i found out that she got xanga from her sister (3 years older than her) who got it from another friend. and for myspace.. i think i saw my brother doing it? then i made one myself. yeaaahhh

I liked the idea of having a little space where I could vent out some frustrations, or just go on and on about anything I wanted to without worrying about talking too much or getting on anyone's nerves.

Also, as strange is it is, I felt like I had a little privacy from those I knew in real life, so-to-speak.

Xanga was a Sunday morning ritual for me for a while. I used to love to spend about 30 minutes or so, drinking coffee and just writing about my week. How I felt, what I did, how my son was, etc.
