Emo basically stands for emotional. AkA, its the type of music that you listen to when your down. In turn, alot of people listen to it.(not me though)

I voted for emo, because some of my favorite bands are that (Saves The Day, Moneen, Further Seems Forever, The Early November, Dead Poetic [their songs have emo lyrics! Hell, tons of none "emo" songs have emo lyrics.] & Brand New).

If someone put indie as an option in there, I'd rather pick that. It's different hence the name "independent." Some indie bands are (well, I think they're indie): Aria Decline, Broken Social Scene, Cursive, Mae, Modest Mouse, & The Postal Service.

Oh and whatever the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, IMA Robot, Stellastarr*, Elefant, The Libertines, The Jealous Sound, & The Von Bondies are, I'd vote for that too.

I would take bands as Good Charlotte, Sum 41, Simple Plan, Godsmack, Staind, AFI, etc. as a joke. It is just as annoying as these middle school kiddies dressing all in black, studded belts, black and white checkers, heavy eyeliner, crazy haircuts, Converse with band lyrics written on them, and acting like a tough punk-ass and rebel against everything their parents do.

God I hope Avril Lavigne would break her vocal chords and every band out there to stop making shit. Okay, I'm off of this soapbox now.
