how does everybody feel about the comments on xanga being down so long? it's been what...almost a whole day without comments?

My internet life doesn't really revolve around Xanga anymore, so I don't really care.
I did, however, want to comment a few people... so I just IMed them and quoted a part of their entry and commented on it there.

the only reason why i am upset is because i have a new layout up and i wanted people to comment but now i have to wait! crazy.gif

We know, we know - comments have been down for too long!!

Rather than wait to hear back from our vendors on how to easily recover the comments, we're just going to re-enable commenting.

We'll be restoring comments from a backup over the next 12 hours. It will take time for your comments to re-appear on your site! Please bear with us - it will take some time, but we figure that this way... at least we can all use the site in the meantime.

We're working around the clock to get the comments back onto site ASAP. We're very sorry for this, and will keep you posted on updates as soon as we have them!

UPDATE 12:45 pm, EST: It's taking longer than we had hoped to re-activate comments. Our first plan didn't work, but we have some alternative paths we're taking now. As soon as we have a sense of timeframe, we'll post an update with more details.

some people are pretty cocky. all i did was ask a simple question. i dont care if it pertains to you or not, you didnt have to get all anal about it. if you dont get on xanga, whats the point in saying anything...? that's all i have to say.

and yeah...the only comments that will show up (right now) are the ones that were made 12 hours or later. _dry.gif but they should be up soon as soon as they move the them to the database or something like that. crazy.gif

there still sort of down. only the new comments are seenable. The old ones are unavaiable. It doesnt realy matter to me. I havent updated and everyone i know has already propped so; no biggie.
