Yell at me if this was already discussed, but I looked all through and didn't find anything.

Anyhow, about being an official member. There's not a whole lot of benefits that come with that. I mean, you have a nifty little title and you can use the xanga tracker. The decoder doesn't work for xanga anymore, so it's really only those two things.

I'm an official member, don't get me wrong. I worked very hard to get my post count up to be one! But now that I am one... well, I can do everything that a regular member can, except I can see if anyone from cB visited my site.

Any suggestions for more priveleges?

the visitor tracker tracks all of the people that come to your site...not just the members of createblog. mellow.gif

and whenever you become an official member, you get to use the uploader for images. wink.gif

Unfortunately, that's most likely not possible with the script.
The flood control is an entire board setting, and is limited to entirely that.
There's no way to get around that.

it would be possible to remove it entirely, but not reduce it.

i dont think it is, coem to think of it. i scanned GenF adminCP, which is i think the same as CB as they are alike in every other respect, and couldnt find out how to do it

ok, i detail checked GenF's AdminCP, and it definately isnt possible.

you can alter time on search flood, but not post flood, for individual groups

actually, this brings up a point, i've heard several people say that CB is and invisionfree forum. i assume this refers to layout and functions. is this true?

The board is infact Invision Board

It used to be a free script, but has since been changed to a script that now requires a fee if wanted (unless it had already been downloaded/installed prior to changing) (which also alloaws the license to be removed.)

well, yeah i knew it wasnt stil invision owned or sponsered or w/e.

i was just really wondering wether or not the admin controls would be the same or wether that was completely irrelevant
*

All controls would be the same, unless the invisionfree site does not allow certain features since it's a free account. But judging from other forums I've seen, it looks like all controls and features are available, but don't quote me on that.

- Ability To Edit Their Own Topic Titles and Descriptions
- Being Able To Store More Personal Messages (PMs)

I'm liking those ones, especially the second.

And yes, I'm pretty sure it only tracks cB members... because I'll get a bunch of comments on my site as well as messages in my cBox, which means that someone was at my site and didn't just go straight to the comment page, and they're only logged in as "guest". And when I visit the sites that have visited me, they all seem to be lesser-known cBers. But enough about that, it's still only one thing!

I've seen other boards that have "elite members" instead of "official members" that have their very own n00b-free lounge, but... erm, I don't know how good of an idea that would be here.

hammer.gif more PM's!

I dont like the idea of being title "elite members" and I think one offical longue area is enough but I do agree there should be more incentives for becoming an offical member. I mean xtracker and the ability to upload pics are great but it would nice to have more. Like hidden forums/thread or hidden games. Merely suggestions.

And yeah a larger pm would be so lovely.

^ yea but the thing is that you would have to post BEFORE 30 seconds is up to be able to see the flood control. I've never had the flood control, ONLY because I've never posted consecutively to the point where I posted and posted within less than 30 second intervals... You know what I mean? I've always thought there was flood control for everyone. I usually make long posts and/or read the entire topic(s), so I've never really gotten the flood control, EVEN when I was just a regular member.

The decoder and encoder doesn't work anymore due to something with xanga. sad.gif

I'll talk to micron about this. wink.gif

The only thing that's because discussed that relates to mod abilities is the post control, and it's in reference to whether or not official members would be able to have a different post flood control.

the uploader isnt that great, there is a restriction for file name.

- more file type for images
- after a person reach its 500 posts, this person will get 2 free images spot every 50 posts because 1 free images spot is not enough for every 50 posts.
- advancer skin previer and editor instead of updating or making a layout on your xanga ( its better cuz we wont lose any work when xanga is interupted)
- after the person reach every 1,000 posts, we get to change out username(gawd, i hate my username .. i dont want to start a new one and start my posts over again)
- 10 cents every posts after you reached 500 posts shifty.gif
- music sections ! (gawd, i need help .. i cannot find the music i want)
- music hosting( free music hosting after you reached 500th posts)
- after 5000 posts, a chance to meet the creator of cB laugh.gif but you have to travel to him.
or
if you save up to 20,000 posts, he'll come to you, lmao.
- auctions sections (this is stupid)

^cus it can't be reduced.

what other priveleges would i like?

no flood control. (mod position would also solve that. hint hint. (it will be up soon)).

how about...

larger signature size allowed?

the current size is large enough, but reduce regular member height to 200 pixels, so that you get a benifit from being an official member.

i do like the idea of sig benefit, but as justin said, it would haveto be the members who had theirs reduced, to prevent massiveness. and that doesnt strike me a s particularly fair... there are some nice sigs which would have to go....

It would be terrible to have bigger sig. images. Why? cB is overwhelmed with spams, useless shits, and so much more. Now, bigger images? It would even take tons of useful spaces. huh.gif

Why make cB thread loads more slower with so much pixels? wink.gif

Of course, you can block all the sigs, avators, and etc but it would still use more spaces. _smile.gif

There are some forums where there are certain areas that are limited to the special ranking members.
So there would be a special area here where only official members can post.
Yeah, it's not the best idea but atleast I'm inputing something.
