as the school year comes to a close, i get more and more depressed knowing that next year my class will be split up and go off to different high schools. i know that at graduation i will cry my eyes out and a week or so into the summer too. whenever i hear vitamin c's song graduation, it makes things 10 times worse! they always play that song and i get soo sad. sad.gif

when you graduated 8th grade or high school, were you extremely depressed or happy to leave everyone?

When I graduated 8th grade, I was so glad. I also moved again. So since I was starting a new school, I was a little upset, but I hated my 8th grade year so I went with an attitude that high school couldn't get any worse.

Overall, I was really happy.

Yeah high skewl graduation is the worse! But for me my 8th grade graduation wasn't really sad. Cuz everyone i knew was going to the same high skewl! But then there was the ones that were really leaveing ur life forever! And i cried. Cuz they were so close i told them everything and then they are jsut going to leave? up and just go?! How unfair.. but i see that life just trips you and you just need to get back up and move on! And i did and now i see them everyonce in a while! shifty.gif

I'm graduating this year out of middle school. I'm going to miss it even though most of my friends are going to the same high school as me. It's a big transistion though, I have a lot of memories in middle school. Gonna miss all the teachers, the whole community itself since my school district's high school is a town away from mines. Miss all the walking from home to school and back. Gonna miss everything but I know there's a plan for me in the future.

graduating jr high was tough for me. i had three best friends and so many people that i'd grown up with at my junior high. but, i was going to a different high school than they were because of the boundary changes. i was really sad to be pulled away from the people i've known for most of my life.

overall i was quite depressed.

i'm graduating this year tooo. from 8th grade. and i know right now that i'm happy to get out of that place & just move on and find totally new friends & get away from the drama.. but when i look back on it they were the greatest 8 years of my life. i'm definately going to miss it & cry at our graduation.. especially when we sing the song to our parents. but i'm going to be glad to move on to highschool.. and only like 5 of my friends aren't going to the same highschool as me.. they'll just be a lot more people there because alll the schools will come.

and as D1SMANTLED said.. it's a part of life. we can't be stuck in this moment forver.. we got to move on sometime.

but believe me.. i know how you feel!

I was happy. Not to mention that I loathe school, but at the same time most of my friends deserted me (shows just who my real friends are! laugh.gif ), so I wasn't really sad. I realized that high school would be different, so I didn't really care about 8th grade promotion.

Actually, I was mainly happy during and after 8th grade promotion because I went to Las Vegas that following summer and it was.. AWESOME!! happy.gif

Middle School = boring.

I was a bit happy graduating from middle school and going to high school. Sure most of my friends were going to different schools, but that didn't faze me a bit. I knew I was probably going to make new friends anyways. But I know that next year, for my high school graduation, I will probably be all teary eyed and stuff because we'll all be going to colleges all across the country. Who knows if we'll keep in touch.

I haven't gone after eighth grade nor high school yet. But let me share my experience during my fifth grade farewell and graduation. I was extremely depressed, because most of my friends are going to different middle schools, and I won't see them anymore. Perhaps I was also happy for myself, because as I conitnue my education to Middle School, I know that i'm going towards my goal, successfully.

You will be sad but you can still get together with your friends over the summer and call/IM your friends during the school year. Plus you will probably make a lot of new friends in high school. I wasn't that sad when I went on to high school, but then again, a lot of my friends were going to the saem school. I know a bunch of people at my school, though, who didn't know ANYBODY and they made a ton of friends.

The change from Middle to High school 2 years back wasn't big for me. 8th grade was horrible and I was ready to jump out of it and start anew. Of course, most of my friends went to my high school since it was across the street.

I was sad.. but I knew I'd keep in touch with them. Most of them were going to the same high school, and I was one of the ones who went off to a far away one where none of them were going. I still miss them, but I'm sorta glad I went to a different high school because there's a bunch of drama going on there. And yeah.

Truthfully, I didn't really care that much when I graduated from eight grade. I had been to two middle schools locally, so I would have friends at any high school I decided to go to. :P Plus, I think I've become slightly jaded about leaving friends (parents both military, moving often growing up).
However, I cried my eyes out at graduation (high school). I was sad, because I would literally never see a lot of those people again, and it meant band was over (aww, yeah, I'm a dork). I was really happy though, because I was finally finished! :P

my town is kind of small with only one highschool with about 1,500 kids attending unlike the other schools around us who have 4 highschools.

i have one more school year to go and then i'll finally be a high school graduate!

I graduated middle school in '98 and I was happier than ANYTHING, no doubt. In 2002 I graduated from High School and I was hysterical, like, I couldn't breathe, and now I'm a Senior in College and Graduating NEXT Spring =] Probably won't cry.

But..HS...wow, that's a tough graduation.

they don't split us up...there is one public high school...and like 10 or so vocational and private ones that some people chose to apply to. (Red Bank Regional, MASS, CBA [all boys school], high tech, etc..)

Well, I am going into ninth grade, but it's still the same school, so no eighth grade graduation.

(Elementary = K to 6.
Junior High = 7 to 9.
High School = 10 to 12)

So yeah.. I haven't experienced any of those except for changing from elementary school to junior high.

I don't think I'll really care though. It's just another year gone.

High School isn't anything like the movies.
But you have to accept that things change and people get split up.
If they're your real friends, they'll stay by your side.

When i graduated from 8th grade, everybody from my school and our rival school went to the same high school. so considering i went to both of those schools i had alot of friends from each of them. so having both of them combined was pretty cool. so i was happy. but now im in a different state and have to start allllll over.

I was at my graduation yesterday, and I felt really bored. Not excited because I would be leaving high school and moving on to college, not sad because I would be leaving all my friends, just bored. It was really weird blink.gif

How do you think you'll feel or how did you feel at your graduation?

Graduation should be a time to celebration of all your accomplishments. That's weird how your graduation is bored. I thought it was boring also, but I was actually happy. I was ready to move on with my life and go to college. How can you be bored? No offense.

I was so effing happy. All was worried about was falling when I got my diploma. Then my mom had to ruin it by crying and thus making me cry. Its was a great accomplishment for me and I so happy to see my parents so proud of me.

I'm in freshman year, and I'm already counting down to graduation. I'm going to be happy senior year, I'll get to leave this place. Grr, Anna leaves next year. ):

Approximately 1,103 days until I graduate. Yes, I counted. I am THAT sad. _dry.gif

By then, I don't think I'll be really emotional. That will have already passed. I'll feel happy that I made such a great achievement. AND also ready to start the next chapter in my life =]

When I graduate from highschool, I'm going to be scared or at least that's how I feel right now. College as I've heard is really hard and stressful, but then again, you're 18, live by yourself, whatever. It probably won't be too bad. Don't care much about friends. ermm.gif
