In Illustrator, I'm working on the hair of my vector. So, I did the outline of the hair. Now, how do I cut out some shapes? I know how to do it in Photoshop, but I clicked the buttons in the Pathfinder toolbar in Illustrator, but nothing is happening. How do I cut out an area from a bigger path?

Hmm...I've never cut anything out before...I've always just added more layers on top. Why do you need to cut it out?

The hair, since there are spaces in between it. Like the hair is flying out. You know how in your tutorial, you showed that you made the base of the hair that covered all of the hair. Then you cut out parts of the hair that were bent of something. Like in this picture with the "holes": http://img70.exs.cx/img70/6779/hair42bw.jpg
