i know i shouldn't hate him, coz he's my father.
but he really makes me so upset. recently, i told him that i want to learn dancing. he refuse me and said don't waste money on those rubbish thing!! i was very angry! i mean, you can't say dance is rubbish! i love dance so much, i love it for a long time already. in those years, i only learned jazz and hip-hop for few months only. the fees was paid by my own saved money. coz he always doesn't support. he always said i shouldn't anything which is useless. everytime i watched music video, i'm so jealous. i admire their skills of dancing. i know they need time to practise, and i don't mind spending time on practising dancing! so i decide to use my saved money again on paying fee. sigh.......... i can't spend money on dance but he can spend money on gambling!!! fuXk! |

Just have a long chat with him. Whatever you do, control your emotions. Prove yourself to him and probably he'll pay for your fees. ;)

lol, techinically you dont NEED to purchase dancing lessons, so your dad has a point, and the right to either give you money or not since it's his income.

I think, and I'm sure your father would concur, it is wiser to spend that money on your english grammar and spelling lessons. I strongly advise you get an english tutor. Now!

I'm sorry to say that your rant was nearly useless because there is nothing you can do...except save money or get a job...or....be really patient and just talk to him....

You should be happy to still have a father.
Our parents may not want us doing everything we want, like I wanted to take up band next year, but my dad wants me doing a career elective. I would suggest you tell him that you love dancing. |

well at least he's not stopping you from paying dances fees yourself. tell him you really enjoy dancing, and that maybe he should pay for like a month of something and see if it's worth it

do you really need dance lessons? i know a guy (yes a guy) who learned how to dance just by watching and he's really good. are you planning on jazz or hip hop?
after you watch it and listen to the sort of music a lot, it just comes to you. |

Thats not a good reason to be mad at your father. It's his money he earned, he should do whatever he wants with it. I can see why your're mad about it, but thats not a good enough reason to say you hate him, beacuse hate is such a strong word. I bet in a few years you'll forget about it and you two will be cool. I use to feel the same way, but now I go to a high school that offers dance class. For FREE!

Blah, my dad does that too. He think that it's pointless -__-; I wanted to take tai wan do (sp?) but he said I didn't need it and it was a waste of money. Well maybe tell him why you wanna take it. Sneak in a few reasons why it's good for your education p_p;

Bleh idk... He just doesn't see eye to eye about how you feel about things. I hate my father as well, but my father is far worse than yours.
My father doesn't even allow me to go out, not even to events that are also free! Dumb, huh? lol. And he doesn't even want me going out to hang out with my friends, even if it's for school. Since he's rarely home (also because of his infidelity... ![]() But anyway, you should still pursue your dreams... You should realize that there are probably people who are far worse off than you, and at least you can save money to achieve your dreams. There's people out there who are working at a young age just to survive and hope that they could become dancers as well. Be independent. That way, when you save you save up enough money and do take those classes, you'll have a chance at becoming a professional dancer. And when you make it big, you can look back and tell your father that he was wrong, that it would've been nice that he could've supported you in following your dreams. |

my father and mother are wonderful, I've never had to deal with that kind of thing, htye incurage me to try new activities and such, so I'm afraid I cna't really identify with you. Perhaps you have a low income...? maybe your dad knows you are low on money but doen'st want to break it to you? but then again, you said he gambles...that's bad...I think you should, I dono, talk to him or something...............gosh, I'm not much help. ![]() |

my family income is satisfactory. and he disallows is only because he thinks dancing is pointless.
and i decide to pay my own pocket money to learn, to lie him that i'm not going to learn. parents always think good manner daughter should stay at home all the time. but they don't care their daughter's wants and what they need most. |

Maybe the fact you pay for it is good for you. Maybe he doesn't want to be financially unstable when you grow up, and learn how to spend money wisely when you're young.
