Okay, I know there are other topics on this, but this is a more of a "How do I get my mom to understand my issue?" Today I told her three things I would change about myself is, eyebrows [arched], upper lip hair, and weight. And she was like maybe. And I told her "NO I "AM" changing that. And she's like not if I don't know abotu it. But she doesn't get it, I am going to do it...I don't care if I get grounded, I'm doing it. She says I shouldn't because it'll get thicker, but there was a thread here saying that the "Nair Upper Lip Hair" doesn't make it thicker... just gets rid of it... and I am bound to try it... but she won't let me, she just doesn't understand... what would you do?

anywayysss i guess you could try if you want, cause honestly, it's your body.
but then again, your mom knows a lot more than you, she's had a lot more experience.

I know but it's soo annoying. Like my friends are all guy lovers, and so am I. But what do I look like talking to a guy with upper lip hair... it's so annoying. And when I am around guys I don't know I always cover my mouth... and it makes me sound retarded.

if its not too long, would ur mom let u bleach it? it wont be as noticeable.. but still fuzzy lol

im not sure if it works, but did u ever hear about putting lemon juice on ur hair (on ur head) to make it lighter? perhaps that would work for ur upper lip too... but i think professional bleaching would be better

odds are, its not as bad as you think it is. people probably wont notice it unless you say to them "ew i hate my upper lip hair" and then they'll be like, oh. okay. its really not that big of a deal. if it bothers you that much i suppose you could wax it, but you may get in trouble. i would probably do it anyways if it were me...then again my parents would probably let me do that...after all it isnt that big of a deal.

your call i guess.

I mean I wouldn't care if it was just a lil fuzz... but it's not. Trust me, it's noticeable I've got comments from 3 guys.

you can bleach it. or if you want to get it off, wax it. itll grow back, but eventually it'll get fairer. at least thats what i hear.

Unless you're going to pull the hair from its roots, it'll ALWAYS come back darker, thicker. Shaving for example, doesn't get rid of the root of the hair, so it'll come back thicker. Certain cream removals will only do so much as get rid of the hair a little past the surface of your skin and they will not pull out the roots. That means, such creams will result in hair growing back coarser.

So, either pluck with tweezers or wax. Your hair will take longer to grow back and it will not be so thick and dark as you would shaving/using cream removal.

You must be careful about your eyebrows. You can either improve in appearance or worsen by changing your eyebrows as they play an important role in defining your face. I suggest that you go to a professional and let them help you find the right shape of your eyebrows. DO NOT rush and pluck them on your own until you know their shape. I've seen too many young girls do this and I'm telling you that you can save yourself from embarrassment.

blink.gif Go to the doctor so you can get your hormones checked if it's long. I mean I doubt it is but if you say so.

Your mom probably thinks you're too young for ALL of that. Settle for just getting one thing done, and it seems like you wanna get rid of your upper lip hair the most. So ask your mom if you can wax it or whatever, and tell her you'll wait until later to pluck your eyebrows/ make them arched.

I saw your pic. It's really not bad. Of course, the pic is really small, but that's just my opinion.

I suggest you wax it. Mine isn't noticeable not even to mean so yeah. And if I was in your situation I'd wax it if it was really long and noticeable. And for your eyebrows unless they're a wreck right now I suggest you to jsut take things one at a time, but if you really want it, I suggest you get it done somewhere professionally first then like look where they plucked so it would be easier for oyu to do it yourself after maybe the first or second time. I don't know those are just my 2 cents.

I shave my upper lip hair, I didnt have like a lot but i didnt like it. I didnt even tell my mom and like one year later she found out and didnt really care. It doesnt even grow back SUPER thick. Just when it starts to grow again shave it again.

From a guy's POV, wax it, or do something to remove it so it won't grow back quicker. Not trying to be mean, but if it's thick and really noticable, it's one of the biggest turn-offs

Wax it if you dont like it, i started waxing mine when i was 13, my mum said it was my choice and she would help. I wax it every weekend, it does grow back fairer and mine is barely noticable now.I know boys dont like them because theres a girl with a really bad one, they talk about it sometimes lol. I wouldnt pluck you can get ingrowing hair, and it hurts like a mofo. Shaving is also quite a bad option, as it could look worse, it will grow back quicker, so you have to shave it all the time. Its up to you though.

Use the search function and type in wax or waxing, and I promise you'll find a bunch of waxing tips/questions topics.
