every time I try to IM somebody, my AIM crashes... why?
 I use middle_man, but it has never given me problems before...  any idea what the problem is? edit// I've tried going on my other screennames, but it gives me the same error.. edit2// I can view people's profiles and everything, just not open an IM window.. |

Restart your computer and if that doesn't help reinstall AIM. That happens at times. I just wait a moment like 10 minutes and then open AIM again.

That happened to my boyfriend and it got so bad that we had to talk on Yahoo before he decided to reformat his computer. But yeah, try uninstalling and then reinstalling it.

i dont have aim but im. hmm maybe u should get new aim or ask someone to see what the problem is. or maybe u`ve been moofed many times.

If you still need help and still crashing look at My sig and DL Hiajck This and do a scan and save log, copy that log from notepad and post it here =]

I think the first place to start is to get rid of Middle Man and see what that does for you. No offense to you, but I've always hated Middle Man.
I'd much prefer a program like Trillian for my instant messaging needs since it's AIM/MSN/Yahoo/ICQ/IRC in one. And it's a helluva lot more secure. |

if none of these resolutions dont work, and you dont want to get trillian, try downgrading or upgrading(if you dont have the latest version). if it still happens, do a virus scan, spyware scan, and a HiJack scan. if it stil happens, all i have to say is reformat =/

I restarted my computer multiple times and AIM works again thanks everybody this can be closed now. |
