HTC link effects Options

Okay..... I'm not sure if anyone knows what HTC link effects are (I'm not too sure, either), so I'm going to explain what I want to do.

What I'd like is to put some link hover effects on my xanga. Not regular ones, but things like gradient wipe and stuff.

For example, click here.

It's a sample site for a layout from Aethereality.net. Hover over the text links (not the image mapped links). See the effect? I'd like to do something like that on my xanga. She provided a tutorial here, but it's for a regular website.

Is there any way I can edit it so that it works for xanga? I tried uploading the .htc file and changing the part that says "behavior: url(link.htc)" to that url, but it didn't work. It might have been that I just uploaded it in the wrong place, but I'm not sure.

I think I've tried those before on my xanga and have them not work.

I don't know what half that stuff is........ and it seems they give me a url......? Where it says "Cool yourname.vzz.net URL!" I mean...... it seems like they're giving me a whole website.................

I read the terms of agreement and stuff like that..... it hostultra.com seems to be a freeserver for websites. I'm not really looking for a website.... just a way to host a(n?) .htc file, or a way to edit the coding so that the link effects work on xanga.

... Yes, but all you have to do is have an index page and look like you care and they'll let you keep your account. You'd have to upload the file, y'knoe, the first part. Then you'd change the.... Well, this section of the code.

Of course, you change link.htc to the direct location of your file.

Okay, but..... they ask for all this stuff that I don't really want to give out..... like address and stuff. I'm kinda paranoid, and my mom is even more paranoid than I am, and if she found out I was giving that kind of information out, she'd kill me for sure. Plus, I don't want to give it out in the first place.

Those are all website hosts...........

I'm not looking for a place to start a website.... I'm just looking for someplace to host a .htc file (without making a whole website).

Or somehow editing the code so that it works for xanga.

I'm pretty sure very few if any free hosts accept .htc files.

HAVE AN INDEX PAGE, AND NO ONE CARES!
But seriously, I have accounts where all I have are zip files hosted and they don't particularly care, because the site is one page long. There isn't a place where you can host a file without hosting a 'whole site' as you say. Minimal effort to make it look like a 'site' will keep your file hosted.
(Unless, perhaphs, you could find a really nice person to host your one file on Pick-Me... But probably not.)
