You know those cold sores inside of your mouth, (thanks for helping me remember) is it true that if you mix salt and water together and gargle, it'll help eliminate the blister faster? That's what my grandmother told me.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I didn't know where to put it. Feel free to move it whereever it belongs. |

I heard the same thing but about sore gums.
It helps gums swell down. I think I know what you're talking about. I think its works. If it can work for gums, I think it can work for that. Salt and water is very useful in most cases. |

i think that it's cause the salt helps to neutralize the infection or whatever. and yeah, it kinda helps. although i'd rather just use the medicine in the medicine cabinet that reduces the cold sore and also numbs the pain.

Whenever I get a sorethroat or some sort of infection with my throat, my mom makes me gargle with salt water. It helps a little.

I'm not exactly sure, but whenever I lose a tooth, my mom has me wash my mouth with salt water. I've never really known the difference,though.

You CANNOT get rid of cold sores, a sexually transmitted disease, with salt water!!!! I'm running out of breath. Don't say I didn't warn you and don't be surprise that the opposite sex will run the other way when you tell them you have cold sores. *Sigh*. |

gargle= throat.
but anyways; salt water will kill some bacterias. cold sores are caused by a virus. therefore: no, probably not, unless those aren't cold sores. |

Apparently, those white blistery things are from bacteria. Salt water kills it, so i think it should help. Haha my grandma told me that too. Our grandmothers should be friends.

if you your first cankersore before you're five, then you're more likely to have it often. if you get it after, then you won't get it as often.
i have some sort of medicine or something for it. i don't usually get them, but when i do, i just use that or just rub salt in. it'll hurt but.. i dunno, i'm just used to hurting. that sounded so screwed up, haha. being hurt isn't really such a big thing to me anymore. life goes on. i've heard of the salt water thing but i've never tried it. |

Yeah, thats right. I've done it before, and no, it doesn't burn because its diluted(sp) so much that you just taste the salt.
