Right this moment ... it has so many things going for it ... wow. More than the first two episodes. mellow.gif Everyone's commercializing it - even Cheetos is doing it! I don't want my tongue to associated with Darth Vader or Yoda!

i have never seen a complete star wwars movie, just bits and pieces of the first few which i didn't like...i read today that umm george lucas? or whatever his name is wants to make star wars a tv show...i doubt that will work out, a tv show needs a lot of storylines and there have been so many star wars movies, he'll have to run out of ideas eventually.

haha i have these friends that are total geeks (but i love 'em biggrin.gif ) and they organized a big thing for preordering tickets for the midnight showing tonight, and i didn't bother asking my parents cause i knew i wouldn't be allowed...considering its in the middle of the week and all. well, on the way home from school (i got picked up late) i passed by the theatre cause i knew a few of them would be there waiting already haha laugh.gif turns out, someone who was gonna go couldn't make it SO they have an extra and i asked my parents and actually convinced them to let me go! biggrin.gif its gonna be so fun.

I SAW THE PREMIERE!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG IT WAS SOOOO TIGHT!!!! XDD it was such an incredibly good movie, and i wouldn't be surprised if i see it again this week. like most other movies, the weakest part is the dialogue. ohh man but the fight scenes are good. Lucas never ceases to impress. ^_^

for those of you who want an unbiased opinion (i haven't seen any of the others), here you go. it was pretty good. the story was surprisingly decent, and even though i'd never seen any of the others it still made sense and the twists were good too. the thing that bugged me the most was that lots of it was SO. FREAKING. CHEESY. the dialouge worked, but a lot of it was REALLY stupid. also, i think they went way overboard with the special effects (most of them were good, but it's still obvious it's not real and it took away from the movie imo). not that much humor either, but hey, it's not a comedy. other than those bad aspects, everything else was enjoyable. i'd give it about a six or seven out of ten. what i found really weird was our theater was only half full. and it was a 7:15 showing on opening day. weird. also, my friend was the only person in our theater dressed up (besides me and my other friend who wore some bk star wars hats).

It's kinda cool when the fans of Star Wars wait outside for like more than 800 days just to be in the first line to watch that the new movie lol. It's really interesting. I don't think I remember hearing about that when Lord of Rings came out and also Harry Potter. But that would be cool if I was the first person to see the Harry Potter movie heehee. Anyways, I'm not a fan of Star Wars. But it's okay if I watch it because I like sci-fi movies :D

My boyfriend got his May 19th tickets by reserving it 2 weeks in advance. Eugh.. Sorry but I don't really see what the big deal about Star Wars is. But then again, I haven't really watched the entire Star Wars movie that was made a long long time ago. I didn't watch them because it was pretty boring, imo. But it's all people ever talk about. lol. My journalism teacher even had a free ticket, so people in our class played a game thingy and this one guy won so he got the ticket.

I'm not that big a fan of Sci-fi movies. :P

Is the movie anything like the first two? If it is, I probably wont like it. I thought the dialouge and acting was horrible in those...And the special effects weren't anything special. At times, yeah, they looked cool, but it's nothing that I haden't seen before. George Lucus says he had those stories planned and he's been saving them forever, but I wouldnt be surprised if he wrote them while bored on vacation or something. From looking at the old ones, then watching episode 1 and 2, I expected ALOT more.

I DO enjoy episode 4, 5, and 6 though...

MAYBE I'll like this new one...I hope so.

so i was a nerd and saw it again. two of my friends who i went with loved it, and the other two hated it. since i didn't have to concentrate on the plot this time around, i realized there's a lot of unintentionally funny moments (whenever darth sideous said "good" the whole theater cracked up). now i need to see the other ones.

I saw it today with my boyfriend, and I thought it was really good. I had seen all of the Star Wars movie, so I kinda knew what was going to happen, but it was still really good. My boyfriend, who I had to drag to see the movie with me, also thought it was really good. It was really well made. Hah, I now want to get all the movies and have a Star Wars marathon and watch it from the first to last one...

It was awful. I'm having a hard time deciding if it was better or worse than Episode 1. The acting blew, the space/lightsaber fights were nothing we hadn't seen before, and the plot completely abandons the idea of cause and effect and logical character development.

You know it's bad when it's quite possible that having Jar Jar Binks be a speaking role might have improved the movie.

While waiting for the movie, a friend of mine bought some fries for $10. We laughed at him because it was a total rip-off. After seeing Episode III, I think my $10.95 would have been better spent on said fries.

oh wow, stop making stupid assumptions. not everyone hates jar jar binks and of course he wasn't a tool for improvement. George Lucas can do better than that and I thought the movie was great. You make it sound like lightsaber battles mean everything in the movie. What about the rest of the action? Can you think of lightsaber duels that hasn't been thought of before? About the plots, you need to elaborate because as far as i'm concerned you may not understand the story at all.

yeah, maybe the acting sucked but..........DARTH VADER ROCKS!!!!!! devil.gif

Well. I did enjoy this movie afterall. I was a big fan of the old ones and always will be...and I'd say episode three compares with those rather than the first two (which sucked imo). Bad acting yes, but....George lucas is a terrible screenwriter. The movie itself was entertaining. I thought it was powerful how Anakin became Vadar. The way they ended it wasn't bad at all....

Best scence in the movie: When the mask is lowered onto Vadars burnt face. It closes up on the mask coming down, the mask locks onto the suit, the music cuts out, and you hear him breathing. One of those scenes that gives you chills..

Ahh. Episode II is my favorite Star Wars, but Episode III was just as good. It tied up A LOT of loose ends.

But I cried. [ sob ] I think everyone who has seen it should know why.

Weak. It was really weak.

For starters, the use of CGI was dramatically overdone. It was as if Lucas was trying so hard to make it the best SW that he got carried away. The Washowski Bros were criticized just as badly in the Matrix but at least that use of CGI actually looked good.

The acting... sucked. Everytime there was an intense scene gripped with emotion, it was ruined by poor acting. Palpatine was a horrible actor. He more or less reminded me of a villain in a Disney movie rather than someone hellbent on world domination.

The robots making comical noises and reacting as if they felt pain and emotion was really cheesy and it took away from the movie in so many ways. R2 was probably the only tolerable robot in that movie.

Yoda's backwardss tyle of speaking is annoying as all hell, but thats nothing new.

To all of you Lucasians; he's not taking you to a far and distant galaxy on a spaceship. Convert and become a Washowkiite.

Matrix, sucaks

i thought this movie was quite wonderful. _smile.gif it had a very powerful, romantic core, and if you think about it, anakin only allowed himself to be seduced to the dark side because of his love for Padme. Do you think if Padme's life weren't at risk he would have done the same thing as he did? I don;t think so. The battles were very intense and there was a lot more gore in this movie, with the whole cutting off of limbs, and the aging effect done on Palpetine. I myself couldn't help squirming around in my seat when people got their heads and arms and legs and butts burned off by light sabers. I was growing pretty fond of Anakin wub.gif but then he just HAD to go and turn to the dark side and melt himself into a skeleton. stubborn.gif well the end was very tragic and sad to me, because I always admired Padme because of her beauty and kindness. sad.gif I really do hope they make remakes of the old movies to continue this episode. Well, sorry if my "review" bored ya, but I like giving my opinion.

P.S, I heard there was a rumor that Hayden Christensen (Anakin) and Natalie Portman (Padme) are going out in real life. Read it in Teen People a while back. If its true (which I doubt it is) then that would be sooooo sweet/romantic! throb.gif

That was a GOOD movie.

I really enjoyed it.

I didn't like the part when Hayden had both legs, and an arm cut off though. And especially when he caught on fire. Yucky. [x

It was a good movie, but you can't compare ROTS to the original trilogy. The only thing bad about ROTS was the acting and as BrandonSaunders said the CGI was overdone.

Computer Generated Image. Mostly everything from the scenes and some of the creatures for example: yoda in episode II and III, jar jar binks, and general grievous in episode III are CGI.

Yeah, the CGI was a bit overdone..

I still have to say I like the newer Star Wars. I felt more satisfied when the movie was over. I can't really explain it. Like, when The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi were over, I was like, "That's it? That's ALL?" I mean, I was waiting forever to see the "Luke, I am your father," scene, and when I did, I wasn't all that impressed. I guess I was kinda mad that Luke got his arm {Or was it just his hand?} chopped off. What's with the Skywalkers and them losing their appendages? o_0

But you guys are right..the acting in the newest three sucked.

It's not really the actors' faults, though. Hayden Christianson, Samuel L. Jackson, Natalie Portman...they're all actually really good actors. The others, too. I mean, it definitely had a good cast. But look at the script--even a good actor can't make that shoddy and cheesey dialogue work.

Even so, I thought it was a very good movie. Some of the parts were quite well done, and it was a bit corny, but hey, all the Star Wars movies are (including the original trilogy). It's part of their charm. I think it told the story of Anakin quite well, and was much better done than the first two. I think it was even up there with the original trilogy in many respects.

i beg to differ

there were a lot of things i would've implemented into the script.

first off, i understand they wanted him to talk more like james earl jones when he's in that black costume. in my opinion, it would've been better to really show all that shit that would build up into him being bad. i wanted to see him EXPLODE into the dark side. you know what i mean?

you see him talk to palpatine: oh you are a traitor. i am goin to get you arrested
10 minutes later: i will do whatever you say, master. (btw i hated the way he said master- referring back to the previous paragraph)

wtf

the struggle in attacking windu and switching to the darkside hardly seemed conceivable as a struggle. he just gave in. i didn't feel him turning bad at all. he's suppose to be torn between being good and saving his wife. i've seen kids more frustrated with not getting a toy they want. he should be upset, hesitant, and out of luck when saying "i will do whatever you say, master." all i really wanted him to do was show a range of dynamics in his voice. the only time i was wowed by anything was after ben stabbed him and anakin was lying there burning up and yelling at him. that was like ohmy.gif good f**kin shit. loved the fight scenes, but it doesn't make up for the dialogue completely.

That just seems to emphasize my point that the script was lackluster in some parts.
