I've been training in track for about 2~3 months now and I'm not sure if it's the position I run or somethign but the muscles on the side of my stomache are really sore and tender...do any of you guys know why?

depends on what you're running

if you're doing long distance, then your head should be up and back semi-straight .. i think ..

if you're doing something like tha 100m run, you should be leaned, but not like 90 degrees leaned .. and then just go all out

there's a certain position? i just run. it's natural, i guess.

hm. keeping your elbows tucked in is always good for speed, now that i think about it.

I suggest you talk to a coach at school or maybe someone in a fitness center. They may have a better eye to spot check your form.

I think it's natural to be sore. You probably just really pushed yourself when you were runnning, as in workout fast. I've gotten that before. I think you use your abs when you run too...don't ask me why because I don't know. I just remember my coach saying that.

Don't worry about it, that's normal. When you run, you use your abs too, your lower and obliques. So if you are running track for 2-3 months then you should be feeling kinda sore. Before you run in meets and stuff stretch your stomach muscles as well as your leg muscles. Tis important. and drink lots o water :)
