Hey.
I'm just wondering if there have ever been serious gun threats at any of your schools.

Ever since the Columbine shooting, my school has had minor, minor threats around this time of the year.

But ever since the more recent Red Lake (Minnesota) shooting occured, there have been a few constant threats. We live very close to Red Lake, might I add.

So ever since about the end of last week, there had been a crapload of rumors going around about some chick having a hit list and all. No one thought much of it.

Then on Tuesday (yesterday), my school was on the local news and front paper. Apparently, those rumors were very true. The girl had deleted the list though, but she had a list compiled of people that she was going to shoot on April 20th, which is the anniversary of the Columbine shootings and is also Hiter's birthday. The list mainly had eighth and ninth graders on it, and the people on there were so-called "preps" and "poser goths." I'm not saying they are or aren't, I'm just repeating what I've heard.

Anyway, she's currently at the local mental institution, but not for the list and all, because as of right now, there isn't any complete proof that the list existed, although a lot of us had seen it. I saw it on her site, but I didn't read it. I didn't think anything of it. I wish I did though.

Anyway, she's at the mental institution because apparently she cut herself during class a few times. On the hand, tongue, and leg.

I'm sort of getting off-track...

Has your school ever had any gun threats before?
If yes, were they minor or major?

We've been having cops monitoring the hallways since a day or two after the Red Lake shooting. Now we're doing daily "security" drills.

I'm not worried. I was a bit paranoid today, but I wasn't on the list, and she's not going to be back for the rest of the year, so yeah. A lot of people are skipping school on April 20th.

Um, no. *Another major upside to living in a small country town in Ohio* We've never had any gun threat. Really, no threats at all. (Even though the entire student body has a gun because of hunting). Which is great. I dont mind.

We still have drills though. Espically since a school about 15 min from mine had a "threat" but really wasn't. It was just a rumor.

^ Yeah, some people from my school knew some of the victims and the killer.

In response to living in a small town -- Both my town and state are very small in population. It could happen anywhere, you know. North Dakota is one of the least-populated states. It literally could happen anywhere. I never thought anything could happen to my town, let alone my school.

There have been none....since I've been at this school anyway...but there have been incidents....like the most previous one..where this rapist comes upon school grounds with a gun...everyone was locked inside classrooms...and they messed up the lunch schedule....but throughout the day....you had to walk around with someone...or the rapist could get you....

Yes. She had a huge list compiled, and this is the first serious gun threat my school has ever had. She basically had anyone on her list that ever had a problem with her. She got a lot of shit from people for literally no reason, so yeah. I believe she was serious. I wouldn't be going to school on April 20th if she wasn't currently away from school.

Well I'm homeschooled so.. no not really, tehe.

But the school I would be going to (Thank God I dont) They, this last year, had a kid bring a gun to school, he didnt get to shoot anybody because someone found out that he had a gun and told the principal before he could do anything. But they found a hit list and a hand gun in the kids backpack and a guy I know (and am semi-friends with) was on the list. *shiver*

Nah, considering that mine is a public school, it;s actually quite safe. We're a small city, so there hasn't been many shootings here.

at my school bout a yr ago we had a bomb threat and we were instructed to run out of the school and get as far as possible, and that still looked pretty close, cause we wern't allowed to leave the school.

we wern't allowed to enter the school so of coarse there was no h/w and i was all PRAIS THE LORD

but at a school nearby, were alot of my friends go, a kid brought a shot gun and 12 knives to school and threatend them somehow

Yeah every once in a while. Once like half the school called their parents cause "a bunch of goths" (their words not mine) were going to shoot up the school after my lunch period. There were a TON of cops there, and all the APs were freaked out. Nothing ever happened though, but everyone was like hiding in the bathrooms after lunch. I think the whole school was tardy that day. but yeah it was scary sweating.gif ohmy.gif

edit- APs being assistant principals. and we always have drug busts and stuff.
oh yeah. and a couple of years ago some genius called in a bomb threat at school, on his cell phone. ha, they tracked him in like 4 minutes. Oh, and in the 5th grade the whole school got cleared out cause of a bomb threat

April 20th is my friend's birthday rolleyes.gif

When Columbine happened, every school was crazy ridiculous on security(I live in Colorado, so that's why), but no gun threats have been at my school. Maybe because we have so many security guards. They're practically everywhere.
