i just cant imagine it until i asked her about it
if this is posted in the wrong forum, feel free to move it.

she has never heard of:
hollister, roxy, billabong, anchor blue, pac sun, forever 21, volcom, hurley, converse, etnies, vans, dickies, jansport etc cant think of any now

however she has heard of:
papaya, charlotte russe, guess, polo ralph lauren, tommy hilfiger, dkny etc. (edit: there is nothing wrong with these brands.)

IS THAT WEIRD? how can i convince her to buy these "new" brands for me? i can't choose what clothes to buy, that's why.

my mom never brings me to these stores to buy clothes and she doesn't let me buy the clothes of a SPECIFIC BRAND.

Just another fault of being an indecisive person.

And no its not weird... your just closed minded on the subject. Just tell her to buy anything that has "Roxy" on the tag or w/e

Maybe she hasn't been introduced to the new brand names of this generation. Just show her some of the clothes of the new brands that you wish to have.. after she sees the type of clothes that brand has, maybe she'll be convinced that she likes them.

and my mom used to say "billybong" instead of "billabong" until repeated requests for her to say it right, or not at all!

if its all that important to you that you get a shirt from your "brand of choise" ask her to give it a try. show her some of the clothes that you like, and try to convince her from there.

Honestly, your mum has very classic fashionable taste. The brands that your mum were describing are TOP quality brands that adult celebrities wear. Ralph Lauren, Donna Karen New York, Christian Dior, and etc are classic brands that were made for older WORKING people. *shrugs* Honestly, I wear RL, DKNY and CD all the time. I guess I am more exposed to these brands and my sense of fashion is classic. tongue.gif

Why is this weird? Your mother is older obviously and therefore she's not familiar with the more young, "hip" brands that are marketed towards teenagers. And who cares about brand name clothing? Just be happy you're wearing clothes and even able to wear clothes with brands such as Tommy Hilfiger. Get over it.
