Hav u evr noticed how running on treadmills seem so much easier than the track?!? After running a mile on the treadmill, it wuld feel like nothing, but on the track, it takes a lot more out of u. And my legs feel like Jello after the treadmill too, it's weird.

Personally, I like the track better...treadmills r so Fn boring

I have noticed that too. At home I will be running on the treadmill for a while and I don't have to stop. But at school when we have to run for 15 minutes, Im more outta breath and I can't last as long..

treadmills are boring, i love running on the track :)
plus my school just spent an extra 7 million bucks for new, professional sports utility, so we have a nice red rubber track.

lol it's cuz the treadmills are perfectly flat with no hills or nething to work more muscles..it's a better workout if you run outside. And yah the track things are flat too, but you use more muscle and stuff to propel urself forward then you do on a treadmill cuz it does like half the work for you...lol.And i hate running on treadmills to keep in shape, yes running is like the best, but if i don't have ne music whilest on the treadmill, 20 min seems like an eternity.

i know what you mean. running on the treadmill seems easier because the ground is moving and whenever you run on the track, you have to move yourself. on the treadmill, all you literally have to do is pop up. =/

yah..its definately harder to run on an actual track. running on a treadmill doesnt do much for you. all you do is lift each leg so you dont fly off.

wow, I was just thinking about that the other day when I was on my treadmill. I prefer the track even though it wears me out pretty quick.

I agree, the track seems to go by so much farther. I think it's because on the treadmill, you aren't moving so it doesn't seem like you are gaining distance. Rather than on a track, you actually move and feel like you're accomplishing distance.

I prefer the track over the treadmill, but I still run on the treadmill instead ieven though I live across the street from my school's track pinch.gif

I have noticed. But what about the TreadClimber, which are on commercials. It says they do twice the work. Would that be equal to track?

treadmills have more springyness to them, gives less shock to your knees.

The track is way better then the treadmill...even the the track can be uneven sometimes..its more fun to be going somewhere then running around in one place. Yeah I'm in track so I guess thats kind of why I like the track.

Actually a treadmill is better for your legs because of the shock absorbancy. doesnt cause such a jarring effect to your knees. Erm. I actually prefer a treadmill cuz I can watch tv, so I get caught up in what I'm watching and don't notice that I'm tired as quickly. And I hate it when people can see me run. I've lived in the same neighborhood for 10 years, everyone knows me, and I don't want them to see me. Don't ask.

oh and

yeah thats why you change the setting. U can get those things up to like 20 miles an hour! At least all the ones I've ever been on.

bahh i don't like my treadmill. you can put it on the highest setting and it's still not going fast enough.

plus, on the track you can run with people.

yeah, ive noticed. it's true for everyone.

my stamina really sucks. like REALLY sucks. I used to be a fast runner when i was little but I sort of discovered other sports and the computer pinch.gif

so now my stamina sucks, my speed sucks, and i have the shortest breath span possible. so i stick to the treadmill because i can exercise longer and increase my stamina slowly until im fit to run on a track.
