How do you people DO this stuff? :-D, HTML stuff. Options

Hello everyone. I was just wondering, how you make you're own skins and stuff, because I relaly want to, but don't knwo how. I'm sure learning HTML is a long complicated process, but can someone instruct me where or how to learn it? Is it actually easy and I just don't know? I'm able to somehow change values for sutff *miraculously* but other than that... <--thats what I fee like. haha. Thanks again.

What I do, is study certain parts of the html. you CAN take a class, but that's a WASTE of time, lol. I don't know anything but basic html; javascript and flash.. a different story (I'll NEVER get it!)! lol.

Let me use this code as an example:

In that code, div is a div layer (I forgot what it meant, it is somewhat a table, but not really). Where it says dir, that is short for "direction" and rtl means "right to left" so that the div makes everything go from right to left (words WILL NOT be backwards, don't worry!). And then overflow:auto makes the div layer have a scrollbar, so you can scroll it and stuff; it lets it overflow. filter:alpha(opacity:50) <--- that part of the code makes it so that the div layer is SOMEWHAT transparent (opacity) and the number after it, 50, is the perfect of how transparent it will be. Then where it says width:500, that is the WIDTH of the div layer, in pixels. Wher eit says height:350 is the HEIGHTH of the div layer, in pixels. Lastly, where it says </div> that is to END the code so that you can choose what parts you want inside the div layer. Confusing? In xanga, you don't HAVE to put the </div> part if you want all your xanga parts to appear in the xanga.

HTML is basically just little codes put together to make something appear on a website or something like that. The codes are somewhat easy, mainly if it is basic html.

Here, I've attached an example of what the DIV layer looks like. It is where the scroll bar and TEXT are:
