for photography class, our assignment is to take photos of a specific theme (or dig through existing ones), and combine them with words, phrases and quotes to make a creative collage.

the theme is open to pretty much anything and can involve metaphors, symbols, etc. i pretty much have no idea what i should do, so does anyone have any ideas at all?

no wrong answers, just want your help with brainstorming.

thankssssss!

well, do you have a favorite saying? from a song, a poem, tv commercial, anything?

what do you like? sports, music, anything.

it's just easier if you pick something that's personal, so you can understand it even more. plus, it'll mean a lot more.

well, if you like, dr seuss has wonderful quotes. i don't mean from his books, though.

i don't know, when i read the word collage and theme, i thought up a collage of martin luther king in the center making a speech or whatever and a bunch of other people yelling at him and doing whatnot. the theme's seems to be something about doing what you think is right.

just find an intelligent way to say that if you do find the idea interesting.

or or or a piano/harpsichord/violin something in the center of a bunch of guitars and electric guitars and basses and drumsets and "contemporary" instruments. i'd say be different, but that phrase is so overused.

haha, i don't know. i'll edit this if i think of something else.

what grade are you in? i haven't known anyone taking a photography course yet. it sounds like fun. :)

lilphoenix, in terms of sports or music, i would do that but the thing is, that is quite typical and not something that would particularly stand out. as much as it would be easier in a sense, i want to do something that is difficult but inspiring.

suddenly she, i'm in grade 11, the program is available at our school from grades 9 through 12, though. it's actually a pretty slack course but a few people take it seriously. but the dr. seuss quotes thing is awesome, thanks for the idea :)

and thanks guys for helping.

edit/

this quote by dr. seuss might be a possibility:

"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities."

I have some ideas, but i'd love to hear any input that you guys might have. Once again, the photos must be from my own collection, or I can take new ones.

this was a bizarre idea, and i don't even know if you still need to do it but anyway, you know how people throw change into fountains or any sort of water pond thing? take a mug of water, drop some change in, take a picture that shows the money, and paste words from whatever quote you're using in a circle around the edge of the mug.

or maybe find a bunch of random circular objects that seem to go with the quote (telescope??) and just kinda.. make the quote go around in circles like half done figure eights.

i don't know if i'm making any sense.

it's quite hard these days to find something unique, isn't it? i've been think for about 2 weeks for an idea for a layout, but yet here i am. [blank, blank, blank]

how about just grab a cam and explore the world? snap as many shots as you can, then review all of them. [maybe i should do that...]
