PLEAD CONFUSSION Mixed messages Pulling me close and pushing me away Will I ever escape you? I doubt I’ll ever see the day Seeming forever trapped in this Pernicious affiliation I know the choices But I have no desire to make a decision How many times have I been Spilt in half because of you? One too many, if you ask me But I can’t think of anything to do I see the fork in the road Which way to turn? The answer eludes me How does the verdict plead? Not insane, but confused I must admit Every threnody I write is about you The better option is A poisonous, blood-red recluse Escaping the fire by jumping out the window Get out of the noose by decapitating myself Third times the charm, three strikes and you’re out I’ve been knocked out, just ring the bell How many times have I been Spilt in half because of you?
