Anyone in here a big fan of Hayao Miyazaki films besides me.

I loved the movies PRINCESS MONOKE, CASTLE IN THE SKY, & SPIRITED AWAY. I really didn't like KIKI's DELIVERY service but for the most part most of his movies have some of the best fantasy type scenes I have seen to this day. He is a very creative and talented person in my eyes.

I love Miyazaki!
I loved Spirited Away. Castle in the Sky as okay, but the first one of his movies I ever watched was Kiki's Delivery Service.

I haven't finished watching all of Princess Mononoke. Must finish!

HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE?

Ah, I saw only 4 of them (Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Grave of the Fireflies.) I guess my favorite would be Spirited Away, then Grave of the Fireflies.

I love Miyazaki's movies. Hehe.

I'm a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki. I want to see Howl's Moving Castle as well. I've seen every single one of his movies and quite a few other Studio Ghibli ones. Spirited Away will always be my favorite. They're so fantastic and beautiful. Kiki's Delivery Service was lovely. And Joe Hisaishi composes the best music for those movies. _smile.gif

It's been out since the 7th of March, but I absolutely love Howl's Moving Castle. The movie is magical - well, all of Hayao Miyazaki's are... I saw it in theatres. I have yet to get the DVD, but I will as soon as I get some birthday money.

What do you think about it? It's delightful - a real romantic plot that is rich which interesting events and twists... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

Yes!! Miyazaki and Hisaishi are geniuses. Howl's Moving Castle is a beautiful movie. So heartwarming and exciting at the same time. His movies are very deep and have a strange story line. I watched it over the summer. <33

Oh, but I have a question. I was at Borders Books Store the other day, and I saw a book (not a manga) called Howl's Moving Castle, and it showed the moving castle and the old woman, but it wasn't by Miyazaki. It was an English name -- of a woman. What's that all about?

I love Miyazaki. But I haven't seen Howl's Moving Castle yet. I really want to.
I was so happy that one of Miyazaki's works was nominated for an Oscar.
I've seen Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, and Nausica.
I love all of them except for Castle in the Sky. It was kind of boring for me.

Oh my gosh, like I used to watch Totoro alllllllll the time when I was little. I was obsessed. throb.gif Then I didn't have any time and then we got it for my sister and now SHE'S obsessed!! haha My mom said that Julia and I were just like the two girls in that movie. happy.gif But oh, my gosh, ohmy.gif Did you guys watch Cartoon Network that one day???? They had Totoro on, but they had redone it so Dakota Fanning was in it and other people... And it sounded all wrong!!! They didn't even speak some parts!!! cry.gif We couldn't even stand to watch it, so we stuck in the PROPER Totoro. lol

We also have Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononke, and Castle in the Sky. We *did* get Grave of the Fireflies but that was SO SAD!!!!!! Mom, Julia (my sister) and I were all sobbing at the end!!! cry.gif So Mom took it back. But other than that, Miyazaki ROCKS!!! throb.gif

Totoro is a Miyazaki!!??? I didn't know that. I should have figured that.
I love this movie. I watched all the time when I was little.

Kiki's Delivery Service and Spirited Away are some movies I've seen of his.

But I absolute LOVE Totoro. _smile.gif It's my favorite, 'cause it was the first Japanese cartoon movie I ever saw---EVER. I was in like..first grade. happy.gif

Oh, but I have a question. I was at Borders Books Store the other day, and I saw a book (not a manga) called Howl's Moving Castle, and it showed the moving castle and the old woman, but it wasn't by Miyazaki. It was an English name -- of a woman. What's that all about?

Howl's Moving Castle (the movie) was based on a novel of the same name by Diana Wynne Jones. But I think Miyazaki changed Diana Jones's storyline quite a bit.

I never saw Howl's Moving Castle. The only Miyazaki film I saw was Spirited Away. I can't find Miyazaki films in stores. _dry.gif

4) Castle In The Sky
5) Howl's Moving Castle

Howl's Moving Castle was awesome! the first time I watched it was on YouTube, since I couldn't afford renting the DVD's at the time. it took a while for it to load each part, but it was worth it. I am glad I rented it though, so I could see what it was like in both Japanese and English, although I liked it in Japanese. happy.gif

his other movies though... the only other one I've seen is Spirited Away, which is pretty much already a classic, in my opinion. I still want to see Kiki's Delivery Service, and Castle in the Sky. I know there are a couple more out there that were good, so I'm going to have to buy them. _smile.gif

Alright, I thought that instead of closing the other Miyazaki topic, it would be ebtter to open that one and merge it with the other one...because the one that was closed had a lot of responses.

:D Okay. Get it? Alright. Yay. :] MORE MIYAZAKI!

I still have yet to see spirited away, my friend lives down the street and I keep forgetting about it. I DID manage to see the very end lol. Omg, I missed it like 2 other times on tv, I'll be flipping channels and all of a sudden I see the credits rolling T.T

Alright, I finally saw Spirited Away for the first time. It was great, I almost don't wanna give it back to my friend. shifty.gif

so far I've seen

Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke
Howl's Moving Castle

and I'm about to watch Castle In the Sky. I'd have to say out of the ones I've seen Spirited Away was my fav, but I really really like Princess Mononoke too.

Mononoke Hime, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle are my top 3 favorites and probably the only movies I've seen from him..lol. Did you guys see his anime series Mushishi? It's not as good as his movies.. quite simple actually but the storyline is really interesting.
