on photoshop how do i make my backround of the image transparent. so like anything behind my main image can be seen. ?? HELP!

please post in the right forum and i belive on the layer pallet there should be options on how u want it and blending options

I know after you make it transparent in the picture, you should save it so that it remains its transparency. But.. that's for ps. Not sure 'bout PSP.

well you can either make a certain part of the image transparent and save it as a gif when you optimize it. the other way is taht, you make the parts that you want transparent a color that's not being used and when you optimize it, you can define that color as transparent. does that make any sense? sorry

^ It'd be better just to save it as a .png, but those take up more space. Oh... And you could just make a new document with the background transparent.... -shrug- I dunno.

i dont know if you can save an image transparent with .jpg. save your image as a .gif file and make sure you check the box to allow transparency

no a jpeg image can't be transparent.

you can save the image as a .png

the advantages of a .png:
- really high quality
- allows you to have transparent images

disadvantages:
- they are big files.
