Yes, it's true. He's mixed with filipino. He's mentioned that he's half black half filipino more than once in his songs... but don't ask me what songs. tongue.gif Even Nas tried to diss him about his Black Album saying he wasn't even all black... which is f**ked up on Nas' part.

Did you guys know Enrique Iglesias is half filipino as well?

Look up mixed people in case your interested.

For Sean Paul
QUOTE
From ArtistDirect.com: Born Sean Paul Henriques on January 8, 1973, the multi-ethnic Paul (his parents had Portuguese, Chinese, and Jamaican blood) grew up in St. Andrew, Jamaica. Dancehall DJ Sean Paul began scoring hit singles in Jamaica starting in 1996, and has since attracted American attention with his appearance on the soundtrack of Hype Williams' Belly (with Mr. Vegas and DMX) and his 1999 hit "Hot Gal Today." Paul released his first album on VP Records; the sprawling Stage One.

Enrique Iglesias is half filipino.

QUOTE
His mother is Filipina and his father is Spanish. With the November 1999 release of Enrique, his fourth album he became one of pop music's biggest stars. The platinum-certified Enrique spun off his first two #1 pop smashes: "Bailamos," which hit #1 in late summer 1999, and "Be With You", which topped the pop chart in summer 2000 for three weeks and was also #1 on Billboard’s Dance Club chart. As evidence of Iglesias’ worldwide appeal, Enrique has also sold more than three million copies outside the U.S.

Kelis has some Chinese blood in her too.

QUOTE
Her mother is Chinese and Puerto Rican her father is Black (from an interview with Creative Loafing).  She left home at 16 to pursue her own goals, and four years later Kelis had a deal with Virgin. In mid-1999, Kelis was beatboxing alongside Ol' Dirty Bastard on his cut "Got Your Money" and her signature technicolor spiraled afro was sparking critics' interests. Her brooding vocals blend sensible R&B additives, and the hip-hop layers are funky. Kelis captured feminist desires on her debut Kaleidoscope.

You're not gonna find any stuff about Jay-Z in there, but there's lots of stuff out there (especially in the YW forums) talking about how Chingy is Chinese and Jay-Z is filipino.

Now, back to my vacation away from createblog.

Jay being part Filipino isn't surprising. For one thing, the history of Blacks in the United States is partially defined by miscegenation. That and dude is from New York City, one of the most, if not the most, racially diverse cities in the United States.

Just because he looks more black than filipino, doesn't mean he can't be half. The genes he got from his black parent were probably dominant against the Filipino parent. My friend is half white and half Filipino and I never knew that until 3 days ago blink.gif just because she looked white to me...

He never really said HE was half Filipino. If I remember correctly, he only said "..looking half black and filipino.."

He could have been referring to someone else. Perhaps a girl "fresh to def in Moschino, coach bag."

woah... jay-z and chris judd are half-filipinos! i didn't know that.

the shirt enrique wore on mtv spring break even had the word 'philippines' on it. fefe dobson also wore a similar shirt. she could be filipino, too, 'cause she's multiracial. according to wikipedia, her father's jamaican and asian.

"Fresh to def in Moschino, coach bag

Actually in the Lyric he is referring to Foxy Brown the female rapper who joins him on the song she is of Afro-Trinidadian and Indo-Trinidadian descent and she Kind of looks Filipino. In the song they both describe and state what they do and buy for each other reflecting that their the only one of their kind towards the opposite other.

I will Break Down the Lyrics

Moschino: Women's Clothing
Coach Bag: Women's Apparel
Looking Half Black and Filipino: Describing Foxy Brown
Joanie Dega's and Charles Jordan: Women's Shoes
