i had a-hole examiners the first two times. They marked me off for going 7 in a 5 mph parking lot..and this is when the test just began. Then they marked me off for not yielding to traffic in the horizontal direction when turning right. grr

took me two tries but i've been driving for a year so it's all good ;p

1 try lol and I passed. WAIT.. there's a speed limit in parking lots? I was going like 8 mph or something haha.. it was really close to 10 lol pinch.gif

Anyways, also I only made 5 errors. In California, you can only make 15 errors.. any more and you fail. :/

Well, i dont know how they do it in your town/city, but the examiners here are EXTREMELY strict on all the little things.

I got a perfect score on the written test for my permit, and I earned a waiver in Driver's Ed so I wouldn't have to take the driving test for my license. Unfortunately, I lost it. Failed the test the first time because the examiner said that I didn't look behind me before backing up, which was crap. If I hadn't looked behind me then I wouldn't have waited for the car that was backing out behind me to go. Whatever. Stupid woman. Passed easily the second time.

I've been driving since the age of 8.. or at least I knew how since I was 8 tongue.gif

As a little kid I asked what all the lights really meant and all the signs and arrows and all that, so I basically knew everything by the time i was 8.

Turned 15
Waited till Summer
BAM!
The permit is mine on my first try
Never took a test or any books... learned it all from asking the people that gave me rides as a kid xD

males are better at spacial recognition, and thus will be better at parking.

however, they do tend to be leadfooted, and more likely to go over the speed limit.

however: it's more of an experience thing.

it has nothing to do with male or female. im pretty dam leadfooted myself, & i know more girls that can park then guys. its all on experience, not sex. thats like saying males have road rage, & girls tend to be more calm... i could blow that to bits, i cant drive in trafic for more than 15 min with out swearing at some idiot
you're just lucky this in on here & im not in my car right now mad.gif

2nd time. So embarassing. The lady failed me because she said I didn't look before backing up out of the dmv parking lot. Gah. Even though if I really hadn't looked then I wouldn't have waited for the truck behind me to pass.

First try. But, is that an accomplishment or something?

Knowing how to drive is quite easy, and less of a thing to brag about than to just know how to do...

like..the actual driving part right?

here in kansas, (I know..Kansas. ew..) if you take a drivers ed course, it gives you enough info for the "real world." or so they think. each student gets 5 driving courses or more if the instructor feels like we need it and after he thinks we're ready..he'll give us this little pink sheet. you can use that pink sheet for now..which would be a restricted. (you can get those when you're 15. Permit at 14) or you could use it for when you're 16. (Which would be the license) all you do is go to the driving place and hand them that little pink sheet. then, you'd have to do an eye test, get your picture taken and PRESTO..a new license in the mail within 40 days. NO DRIVING TEST NESSESARY.

BUT..if you're talking about the written test..I took me all three tries to pass my PERMIT. but we dont have to take that either when we get out license. Just hand them that pink slippy..and that's all! we learn everything else in class and take tests and crappies.

i parked 6 inches away from the curb when i had to take driver's ed for insurance...

freaked the instructor out. he was like... do you know how close to the curb you are?

and i was like... yup. i know.

I failed the written to get my permit (before I even took Driver's Ed.) the first time. It probably would have helped to read the book they gave us first lol. I passed it easily the second time. I passed both my Driver's Ed. written test and driving test the first time. I almost got co-op on my driving test, but this guy cut me off and I got pissed off. I was soooo nervous to take the driving test at the DMV. I screwed up on the downhill parking but the guy said that I did that really well, haha. blink.gif

I live in Illinois, and as I said above, the driving examiner didn't even notice when I screwed up. Maybe just at the DMV that you went to.
