X&Y: coldplay's new album, coming out june 6 Options

To all of you Coldplay fans...finally the new album's coming out in three months; June 6th, to be exact.

Coldplay’s massively anticipated new album will be entitled 'X&Y' and the first single to be released from it will be called ‘Speed Of Sound’.

Coldplay's new album, the follow-up to 2002’s 16 million selling ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’, will be entitled ‘X&Y’ and will be released by Parlophone Records on June 5. The album will also be preceded by the new single, 'Speed Of Sound' on May 23.

'X&Y' was recorded over the past year at studios in the UK and has been produced by Danton Supple (Morrissey, Elbow), Ken Nelson (Badly Drawn Boy, Kings of Convenience) and the band themselves.

Easily the most album anticipated release of 2005, ‘X&Y’ sees Coldplay building on their previous achievements while resisting the temptation to repeat themselves.

“We wanted to try new things out, to move our sound along,” explained Coldplay guitarist Jonny Buckland, “But the focus remains on the songs, and Chris [Martin]’s voice is sounding amazing. Everyone is playing at the top of their game.”

Wow, you don't know coldplay? Coldplay is a British band headed up by Chris Martin. They have had two albums ("Parachutes" and "A Rush of Blood to the Head"). Some good songs by them are "Don't Panic", "Yellow", "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face",
"The Scientist" and "Amersterdam".

yeah it's actually been... a very long time. so yeah FINALLY they updated their new album. as if they went POOF for a moment. their album "a rush of blood to the head" was published in the year of 2002! ... right now it's 2005!! oh wells..... i think "clocks" is way better than "speed of sound"... well i thought "speed of sound" was okay, but not that okay.. i wouldnt want to download it because it makes my eye go drowzy -_-;

It's quite normal, in the American/British music industry to have albums come out every 2 or 3 years. Unlike the Chinese music industry (one every 4-6 months).

yeah, ive heard speed of sound plenty of times (its only played on just about every single station) but now theyve started playing their new single, which isnt really that great. it would be for other bands, but for coldplay its dissappointing. i cant remember the name of it

I think that the album overall is pretty good (from what I have heard on MTV and such). Speed of Sound isn't the great. It borrows a great deal from their prior album. nice lyrics, i will admit, though. anyone heard 'talk', i think that that is one of the awesome songs.

Yeah, it's called A Rush of Blood to the Head and my favourites on that album are In My Place, The Scientist, Warning Sign and Amsterdam. I've come to love the entire thing, though.

I heard some bad things about it too...I even agreed with some of the bad things I've heard, when I first listened to it. But I've been listening to it continuously for the longest time now...and it's starting to grow on me. =)
