okayyy, since there was a thread about straight hair. how about one about curly hair, or thick hair or any other type of hair yeah? and there's probably a thread about this somewhere in the girl's locker room.. but heyy this is the fashon thing, not the girl's locker room.

haha yeah, so this thread is for those who aren't blessed with the straight asian hair. discuss problems , styling tips, hair products, etc.

My Situation..
i have curly hair and its really sickening to straighten it everyday.
yes i have had a straightening perm, and i have got it relaxed -- couldn't stand it.

yeah yeah dont go on and about with the "it's good to be different" bs or say "oh i have straight hair, so i don't have to worry about that". i don't wanna hear it.
curly hair sucks. and straight hair is easier to mess with.
with curly hair its either it looks nice, or it doesn't.

i'd rather keep my curly hair then hassle straightening it.
but the problem is.. is my hair is like a *fro*, lmao and if it's not it's really poofy, and i have thin hair, too.

i had a strightning perm too but after i realized that having stright hair is kind of annoying i kind of like my curly hair. im asian myself i dont have stright hair but i jus hate asian grls w. stright hair i mean whats w. this theory that asian grls got stright hair? mines curly and its like a fro too

to keep my hair frizzing up comb ur hair when ur in the showers when u come out dont rub it dont comb it let it air dry or pat dry w. a towel.

i'm asian.. i have wavy hair and so does all my other asian friends too. we all have to use straighteners. although sometimes i think having straight hair is too boring so at times i like to curl it.

try that john freida stuff...umm its called something frizz-ease or something...i heard that it works wonders...maybe it can tame the fro =)

I have wavy hair and it is damaged underneath because of my frickin metal straightener. I don't like my wavy hair and prefer it straight but I don't dare straighten it with my straightener. I am probably buyiing the 'Conair Glass Straightener' tomorrow or the next day because I have heard some good reviews on that product and that it only takes 10-20 minutes to do a really thick head of hair.

i straigten mine all the time, other people like it curly, i cant stand it haha i have to straigten it...thank god for straighteners...i've gone through like 3 already

my hairs recked... to much magis straightening, paul brown relaxing perm, ceramis plates... im leaving it wavy till it gets better.. in the mean while im using a tonne of rehydration hair products

I love my curly hair ! It`s hard to handle most of the time but I`ve gotten used to it, I would NEVER get it permanently straightened...geez whats wrong with you ?! JK...but yeah you should be proud to have something a lot of other people don`t have.

i have wavy hair and its really annoying. my mom wont let me go out to straighten in...she says that she could straighten it for me but i dont want her to. i want it to stay straight for a long time. more then one day. she says that going to the hair salon to get your hair straightend is only for people with curly hair...wtf?

well my friend in 6th grade her hair was sooo puffy people use to make fun of her but in 7th grade she straighten it and it looked awesome everyone thought she was fione! she told me that she got a professional to do it.. maybe try that if your willing to spend hella money on your hair...

well, i'm black and my "natural" shit is the f**king typical ass black people nappy shit. when i wear my own hair....i get a relaxer otherwise it wouldnt be pretty. most of the time (like right now) i have braids. its so much easier.

1)Leave in conditioner>>after shower
2)gel>>for roots
3)moose.>>ends

It works 98% of the time.

I have really wavy hair..it suck`s and its MEGA thick. Whenever i get my hair cut i thin it out..but that dosent seem to work so i straighten mine for hours just to get it straight, and thiner. I was thinking of getting it straightened but does that really work, or does it just dry your hair out?

Lol, i have the same exact problem. Just an hour ago i just got my hair done too cuz my hair got BAD split ends from straightening it every single day! So my hair stylist said... when i take a shower. blow dry it. NOt DRY.. but.. till its just moist? put jell.. i mean it still has the curliness it doesnt have the stiffness of the jell and its not fro :). and... if your hair is think AND curly i suggest you get it layered.

I don't do anything to it though....I just wash it and brush it. *shrugs* I don't spend much time on my appearance.

well..there are straightners that work and last longer then a day IF you don't wash your hair daily..for example the Chi..i really want one ;x

as for curly hair..i get really lazy and like right after the shower i'll put mousse or hairspray in it to keep the curls as is b/c my curls look really nice when they're wet

i have crazy straight hair and ppl think i did magic straight perm to it. but it sucks because i cant ever curl my hair for special occasions and stuff - it will be uncurled in like 5 minutes. sigh.

frizz-ease, or scrunching spray should help..
that's what i do when i'm too lazy to straighten.

and of course i'm not blessed with straight asian hair, i wasn't expected to be when i was born..that'd be odd..:P
