I say Photoshop is better because I've been using that since freshman year and it's really easy for me. Others are really good in PSP because they been using it more. maybe you just need more practice. :]

photoshop is better. there are more and better filters; you can make things for the web; it's more popular etc. try blending in photoshop, if you find it easier, then ps is better for you than psp.

I say no, because there's so much more to do in photoshop. PSP is better for vectors, but otherwise, for effects, photoshop is king. :]

I think that Photoshop is better, because I've been using Photoshop for 1 year and a ˝ now. Paint Shop Pro is easier to use, but it doesn't have the good effects like Photoshop. Paint Shop Pro is good for vectors and stuff.

photoshop is more professional, which is partly why it's so expensive. photoshop is probably a bit harder to use, but the results look similar if you're just designing simple graphics. for more complex graphics, photoshop is better.

photoshop is better in the sense that it can do more than psp, but
psp is better in the sense that it's a lot easier to use

there's always a balance between ease and capability; if you really want to do advanced designs and stuff, go for photoshop, but if you're lazy and you wanna do some image design quickly, go for psp

i think it just depends on what you've been using longer.

i've been using psp since almost 4 years ago so i'm really good at it. and i've only been using ps since like last year and it's still confusing to me. so, whatever - it's doesn't really matter

I have been using PSP for quite a long time now, and once you know how to use it, you can do some pretty advanced things. I admit that the graphics made by photoshop look better and you can do neat things with them, and I downloaded the trial version, but it's a bit confusing to me sometimes wacko.gif simply because I am used to PSP!!!

I think they're both equally good for blending images, I have friends who only use PSP, and their blends are really no different from Photoshop blends.

Very very few people can master PSP. I have seen only one or two people use PSP, and if you see their images, it looks as if they use PS.

There have been at least ten topics on this..

Anyway..PSP is better for beginners because it's more easy-to-use, Photoshop is a more complex program, however, you can do you much more with it.

Hmm.. That's a tough one.. I think PS is better than PSP.. hmm.. I use BOTH.. for certain areas.. I use PS for blending, PSP for borders and other neat effects.. PS i love to render (abstractish), while PSP i use it for mosiacs//glass//and all the other effects.. For me it's balanced to me. I use both at the same time when im doing layouts for certain areas. =D

it dosnt realy matter I have used both and to me psp is better but definatly x version. PS is confusing and it dosnt do too much more than psp. on another note ps has some items that psp will never get but for xanga myspace and blogger layouts i would suggest psp for websites its ps all the way

It depends.
For professional results, of course Photoshop is going to be better.
PSP is great for digital art beginners, but starting from intermediate level, I suggest Photoshop, it allows more possiblies.

Bottom line is: It comes down to talent.

You can do anything in PSP that you can in PS if you know what you're doing and have the creativity to make something good.

You can own PS and still have crappy results if you aren't experienced enough.

Most of these opinions here are just from people who are more used to one than the other, or buy into the preconceived hype that photoshop is better because it's been around longer (therefore has a better reputation), or costs more so "it must be better."

My boyfriend and I debate about this often - him working only with PS, and myself preferring PSP. He can make anything I make in PSP with PS, and I can make nearly everything he can make in PS with PSP. The only things I can't make are because I'm not as experienced in graphic design as he is, not because of program inability.

The programs are the same; it's the talent that is the determining factor of results.

I like photoshop. I've been using it for almost three years now, and I have a hard time using anything else because I'm so used to PS. I've seen great stuff come out of PSP, but I'd rather stick to what I'm familiar with.

no...I used both psp and ps...and I'm not sure which is easier to use, because I forgot how to use psp. Though, to me, photoshop is way better in effects & it provides imageready.

When I use psp, what I can do is limited, when using ps...it helps me in all areas,...like render/blend/vector/digital effects.
