active x controls

ok my school has some thing called active x controls and i was wondering if there was anyway to get around it because it blocks most of the websites

well there most likely going to be a password to disable mode.. but other than that i dont you can unless you try hacking into it but i dont think that will be easy ermm.gif

i have 2 passwords for different administrators but they have active x controls too and i tried going into their main computer system but it wasnt very easy so yeah im out of ideas

well im asking why do you want to do this.. and ecourse its not easy that y there are passwords to keep it secure.. huh.gif

well im not the only one who wants to do this some of the teachers have told me if i can get through that they will give me an A for the quarter thats one of the reasons and plus those dumb controls get on my nerves u cant go anywhere except google or yahoo like 90 percent of the webpages are blocked

umm..someone had posted in technology how to get through sometimes to the sites that your school blocks. that was a long time ago though. you might want to search through there. wink.gif

well yeah i checked in technology but no sig of it anywhere so yeah i would greatly apprreciate all the help

hey, um whatever they're using, i'm 100% sure it's not callled activeX controls. activeX controls are a general category of all sorts of internet explorer plug-ins, like flash and java (technically, not really, but it's pretty much the same).

it depends on how they block the websites--if it's from a program installed into the computer, well that's a bit easier. but if it's some sort of hardware device (like something in another room that's plugged into the internet, well, i think you're gonna have to go pick some locks and break the website filter device ;)

its installed in every computer but when i go into the control panel where you can disable it this is what it says"please contact your administrator about changing your settings" i have 2 administartor passwords but they have the same thing i think its controlled by 1 filter thats used by all the computers

try using firefox, with doesn't have activeX.

which is confusing... how does active X filter web sites?

you could try firefox with vBrowslet, which was made to get around school filters...

the school computers dont have firefox i tried downloading it once on my account for school but time ran out before it finished but ill try it
