Yeah same as Jenny. I only knew 2. And also I knew about the beans part. It's because they can puke easily. Of course everyone should know the reason to that. But ketchup was a medicine back then? LOL that's kinad hilarious.... are these all true? hard to believe lol and leonardo da vinci...wow one hand drawing and the other hand was writing wow... how is that possible? dang. and donald duck... i think i heard about that, but thinking it again it's just too hilarious. i keep forgetting that he has no pants ROFL!!! Half of them is what I don't get... kinda hard to understand too..what's a hemp? I know that orcas can kill sharks but never knew it can make the sharks explode...that's unbeliavable and awkwardly weird. ah so the quicksand is like same as the water? lol... i didnt know that... wait actually that is right... cause if you were in your vertical way. then you could've went down faster... but if you put your legs up... and lie on your back... your body will feel lightweighted if only you dont tighten your body like a solid rock.

1. Money isn't made out of paper, it's made out of cotton.
Well - it is cotton, but it's still paper: http://www.gmu.edu/library/specialcollecti...ottonpaper.html

2. The 57 on Heinz ketchup bottle represents the varieties of pickle the company once had.
Nope. http://www.heinz.com/jsp/consumer_faq.jsp#...Heinz%20Company

4 . The Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper.
Not as far as we know: http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/dube/inde2.htm

7. Susan Lucci is the daughter of Phyllis Diller.
Nope. http://www.snopes.com/movies/actors/lucci.htm

8. A duck's quack doesn't echo ... no one knows why.
Nope. Addressed on "Mythbusters": http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/mythbust...episode_05.html

11. 315 entries in Webster's 1996 Dictionary were misspelled.
Almost certainly a misinterpretation of this: http://www.wels.net/cgi-bin/site.pl?1712&c...abaseID=1&id=14

12. The 'spot' on 7UP comes from its inventor, who had red eyes. He was albino.
Nope, not on this one. http://www.snopes.com/business/names/7up.asp

13. On average, 1 2 newborns will be given to the wrong parents, daily.
I'm sure I've read a believable rebuttal of this, but darned if I can find it now.

16. Chocolate affects a dog's heart and nervous system; a few ounces will kill a small sized dog.
More or less: http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/cocoa.htm

18. Most lipstick contains fish scales.
Kinda, maybe: http://www.straightdope.com/columns/000331.html

19. Donald Duck comics were banned from Finland because he doesn't wear pants.
Nope: http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/finland.htm

20. Ketchup was sold in the 1830s as medicine.
Actually true: http://www.amusingfacts.com/facts/Detail/k...p-medicine.html

21. Upper and lower case letters are named 'upper' and 'lower' because in the time when all original print had to be set in individual letters, the 'upper case' letters were stored in the case on top of the case that stored the smaller, 'lower case' letters.
I can't find a reference, but this smells a lot like just a convenient explanation...

20. The name Wendy was made up for the book Peter Pan; there was never a recorded Wendy before!
Nope: http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mpeterpanwendy.html

27. The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from an old English law, which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb
This one too: http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-rul1.htm

41. Most lists of weird, unbelievable facts circulated around the Internet will prove to be 90% urban legend.

13. On average, 12 newborns will be given to the wrong parents daily.

that is horrible. hello, take responsibility and deliver the correct baby the the person who just gave birth to it. its not that hard.

20. Ketchup was sold in the 1830s as medicine.

to cure what exactly?

32. The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from an old English law, which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb.

you shouldent be allowed to beat your wife with anything, let along someing as large as that. trust me, when your getting beat with it, it probably dosn't feel that small.
