i doubt you can break it, but sometimes if you move it or keep it in one place a certain way, it can kinda hurt

I dont know about your neck but i know theres one for repetitive typing that u can get. Don't remember what its called. Its caused by doing the same thing over and over and over.

Maybe it's because you're hunching over.

My neck/back hurts a lot after I do that.

But I do have a small curve in my back.

yes, 8 hours straight...heh.

and my old computer was very slow especially when you're trying to open up a file or a program, so it was not fun and it was boring too..so i only stay on that old computer for less than 3 or 4 hours. heh. My new computer can easily open up the program and takes only 3 seconds. my old one took 2 minutes so yeah that's why i only did computer 3 hours hehe. hope that make sense for you, eve heh.

yeah i never heard of neck bone either haha. i heard of neck pain, but isnt there such thing as neck bone?...i mean we have bones in neck... mellow.gif or am i being stupid here >.<;;;

but is this a bad thing if i get a neck pain that lasted for 3 days straight? *gulp* i dont want to waste my time going to the chiropractic.. i wana know from the neck pain people what they did... well to prevent it is to lessen the hours...but i cant stop it im sooo computer addictive T____T;; and besides i dont get a chance to hangout with my friends because they all have jobs. and i cant get jobs because i have to do lots and lots of homeworks from my tutor. i have more than you guys hehe. cause im so way behind at school...so im doing all the past work...but you know what's weird? omg i dont know what im saying now. im lost i'll stop here.

the only bone in your neck is your spine and if your break it, you either die or become a quadropalegic, and you can't get either from just being on the computer. HOWEVER, you can strain the muscles in your neck, eyes and hands from being in the same position which can be why your neck muscles hurt. Try moving your head back and forth, place a warm towel on your neck and don't stay on the computer for that long. take 15 minutes breaks or so.

It's called fatigue, do something physical outside other than go on the computer eight hours a day.
The other reason is your monitor could be placed too far above or too far below your personal eye level and you're staring at a monitor that's in a bad place.

I don't think you can break your neck by being on the computer too long. It's probably because your posture during your computer sessions.

It's probably just from having your head positioned in the same way for 8 hours. It's probably sore. Either don't spend so much time on the computer, or take some breaks in between.

I don't think you'll have any serious health problems or physical problems with your neck, it will just hurt a lot. Mine gets the same way after being on the computer for too long.
