It's even more annoying than those who pretend to be nice. I'm beginning to think it's a trend to be mean.

A lot of popular people are mean, have attitude problems, or needs anger management. The others who take the hard way out...is to be incredibly nice. There's also a point where you also have to post and go to the chatroom a lot.

I'm talking about createBlog. You must admit it's true...and none if it annoys me (even the stupidity) more than trying too hard to be mean.

Yeah but I don't really think people are necessarily trying to be mean. Perhaps, some of those people really are mean and they just don't feel like pretending to be all nice to everyone so they show their "meanness". And because of that it comes off as them trying too hard to be mean? Or it's a possibility that they are sick of a lot of people trying to be too nice that they feel the need to balance it out by being a bit more blunt that usual. But whatever the case, I know what you're talking about. Heck, I am what you're talking about -- I can be pretty mean.

I don't think these people are "purposely" mean, like, they don't just go on createBlog to bitch at people; rather, they are just mean in general, mean as a person, mean in real life. So it would hard to suppress that on createBlog, wouldn't it?

The exception is Seon Ho.

Perhaps I think too much, but I do believe some of them do it on purpose. Maybe "blunt" is a better word. That's a trait many people seem to admire.

True, people seem to value honesty more and more on createBlog lately. But I still think there's a difference between being honest and blunt, and being rude. Some people are just rude, and find pleasure in bashing others. Some people just tell you the truth, tell you what's genuinely on their mind. And the truth hurts.

But some people are blunt by taking out the bad comments and leaving the good comments inside. I find a lot of people that are "incredibly honoest" to leave out the positive side of things.

I find that honesty and 'positive sides of things' don't really coincide lately.
It's hard to believe a nice comment. No one takes compliments nicely; and if they do, they're usually pathetic.

But as for trying too hard to be mean.... I see where you're coming from. It makes me laugh sometimes because I wonder what they'd say about themselves..... (Although in all honesty, you have to admit: it's requiring less and less effort on our part to be mean to some people on cb)

Yeah I know they are not being honest, they just go along with sarcastic. It is kinda funny. I already know if they are being dishonest or not..well sometimes on how they say it hehe. I'm usually honest on the inside but the outside, I say nice stuff as possible. I don't act me. heh that's not good, but at least you're trying to be nice.

I don't like how some people just TRY to be mean when they're actually really nice. It's incredibly lame and annoying. They try too hard, they don't realize that they're going overboard. It stopped being funny a long time ago.

And when people use that line "Sorry but I'm just telling the truth." That annoys the shit out of me.
Your opinion isn't the truth, you idiot.

I find the above statement to be the pinnacle of my opinions on this matter, except add another pinch of passionate dislike for haters in general.

yeah i get what you mean. sometimes, i think that they're "mean" because they see other "older" cB-ers being honest/mean and so they think it's ok to be "mean."

i don't think that people are really trying to be mean to be cool...maybe that's just how they really are. in some cases...it's not being mean at all, it's just that they're too stuck up and judge everyone who's not like them

it earns "respect" cause no one has enough guts to stand up for themselves to these people..

personally, i don't get it. why is it so important to earn a status on an online forum? just be yourself.

Yes but there's no such thing as just being a 'mean' person. I mean that they do in fact 'choose' to be mean. Whatever the reason may be...... a mean person if there is such a thing chooses to be whatever they are......

Haha, this doesn't seem to be rare anymore, since a lot of people are doing it. I agree though.
