Effing impersonators, gah! Options

Well, kids. Here's one good reason not to post your pics on the internet. Lately I've been finding my pics scattered on Xanga, Myspace, Finadapix and the like... even Blackplanet!

The funny thing is some of these people don't even bother to adjust their info to match "their pics". They would post my pics and then say they're 13 years old or that they're vietnamese or something. I mean, if you're going to impersonate someone, you might as well try to be believeable and adjust your info. Like this chick who tries to come off as a total sleaze using my pic!?!?

Oh yeah, and one chick IMed me once accusing ME of being the fake and that she knew some chick who has been posting pics of herself on findapix for a while... and then she found the same pics on my Myspace. She demanded I remove my pics or she would report me to her friend who would take "legal" action. So her friend and her friends actually had the nerve to IM me telling me I was the fake. I was like, 'eff it, i don't have time for this' and had her account shut down. There's no telling how many other accounts on other sites she may have created since then using my pics.

I've had to go through great lengths to get these accounts shut down. I worry that people I may actually know in person will find these accounts thinking they're really me and judge me based on these impersonators.

I've removed a lot of my pictures from the internet since then, and have refrained from posting new ones for this reason. Anyone who doesn't believe that my pictures are real can ask Trish who has met me in person.

I've learned my lesson. I hope that you guys will practice the some precaution when posting your pics.

Anywho, the xanga that you posted, they probably used it as an avatar like a billion people who take other people's avatars and liked the phrase "suck my tongue" or some sort.

I know some people who doesn't have a life wants to make fake people, so other people think that person has lots of friends, but really they are fake. just so they can get a lot of attention you know? and they try to find pretty girls/handsome guys picture as possible so everyone will think she hangs out with the pretty/handsome friends. Yeah, I was flattered at first, but then it started to really bug me when I noticed that these people were portraying themselves as total sluts and cybersex junkies. Especially at MySpace where a lot of people from my school have accounts. My biggest worry was what if they stumbled across this imposter's page and really thought it was me? Some of them have even used my real name, Roxanne. What if my dad, my crush, or someone I know does a Google search on me and finds that page? Then it's no so flattering anymore.

Well, being well-known in Xanga has its perks. People IM, email, or comment me about both jockers and impersonators all the time. I never have time anymore to try to track these people down so now other people just do the work for me.
