Well, I've been running 3 or 4 times a week since January and I still have a big blob of fat that is grabbable. It's just not going away and its making me mad. I run for crew (rowing) and we run for 30-40 minutes depending on the coaches mood. Well, I'll give my workout plan just in case
Stretch for 10 minutes Run 30-40 minutes Wall Sits usually 4x2 minutes Pull Ups 3 Time Max +1 Sit Ups 5x25 Bench Pulls 4x2 minutes Of course I skipped a few practices here or there, but I've been doing that for the past 3 months and I can still grab a big thing of fat on my stomach. The weight thing doesn't concern me, but it's just the visible fat >.<. So, any ideas on what I'm doing wrong or anyway to get rid of that fat? |

Your metabolism is ultra slow. Just watch what you eat and continue to excercise. BTW whats a wall sits? Never heard of it. work more on situps/crunches.

Well, I was born thin, I don't mean to make you jelous, I'm jsut saying that the advice I'm abotu to give does not come from personal experience.
How well do you eat? casue if you go out to mcdonalds everyday after excercising tha'ts not going to help...infact taht's goign to put you back the way you were befroe excercising practically. Also, how MUCH do you eat? that makes a HUGE difference. it actualyl makes more difference than what you eat. at least, tha'ts what the study said on the news recently. and don't get impatient, keep on excercising, your doing great ![]() |

Well, wall sits are when you sit against the wall making a 90 degree angle like this
| || ||_ | | Well, I eat Chinese food everyday being Chinese so it's kind of difficult for me to say exactly what I eat besides rice. With the metabolism thing, I don't think that I have a slow metabolism because before I started working out, I used to eat McDonalds and BK almost every day and I stayed the same weight. Weird though... |

Well, let me attempt to explain my diet. I don't eat breakfast and I haven't for the past 6 years so that's breakfast. For lunch I usually have a sandwhich and for dinner I have rice, some type of vegetables and chicken or something like that. I eat a lot during dinner because that is the only chance I really get to it. Along with that, I drink either mass amounts of water/green tea everyday.

I'm totally good at this!
Keep going on your workout. It's going great I'm sure. Things to change: As someone mentioned, always take maybe 1-2 days a week to rest. Muscles need those hours to develop (and convert fat!) You MUST eat bfast. Don't eat an Texan BBQ or anything, but eat something like a fruit atleast. Some milk will also help out. The way to lose weight or contain it is to never eat big meals, but mild, evenly stretched out meals. That is, eat a bfast, a small snack in mid-morning, mild lunch, afternoon snack, SMALL dinner (you don't use energy after dinner, you just go to sleep), and a very small late-nite or 9 o clock snack. Decrease your rice intake by 60%. Replace it w/ veggies. All those carbs after dinner aren't used up and just turn into fat. Yeah..don't eat fast food ever again. |

Its all metabolism. When you get older, your metabolism slows down, and you get bigger. When youre younger, you consume more calories, so my guess is that youre still consuming the same amount, while being unable to burn it.
My metabolism is fast...too fast. I can eat anything, dont gain a pound. I'm like 6'2 and i weigh 150. But at a point, just like everyone elses, your metabolism will slow. Another reason that you arent showing any changes is that: Your muscles could be under the layer of fat, and it doesnt look like youve gotten stronger Another thing: It takes about two days with lack of food to start burning fat, so you might not be seeing any changes. Make sure you eat on a regular basis, you drink lots of water, and...try try again? |

My situation is kinda weird... I have this grabbable bit of fat on my stomach.... yet my metabolism is extremely fast (I'm hungry every two hours or so), I eat so much unhealthy food, I'm 6'3", 142 lbs, and 14.8% BMI... oh and I never work out.

after you lose alot of weight like 30 lbs or more , its going to be harder because your body thinks your starving so it holds on to the weight ..so jeah...jus keep on doing what your doing. |

PATIENCE!!! thats what 99% don't have and need.
the only exercise you are doing that will work are sit ups. wall sits and pull ups etc.. they have nothing to do with the body. that's all muscle. anyways.. you should eat healthier. |

i assume this is lower ab area?
lay down on the floor in situp position. unbend your knees, so that your legs are completely straight. raise your legs six inches off from the ground. then spread them apart and hold for about a minute. then close and hold for a minute. repeat until it hurts =] this works out the lower abs |

i know what you mean, i had a big gut too
![]() ![]() 1. like other said, eat healthier. cut back on the cheese and fat if you're eating any. i don't suggest eating less than three times a day, but it's realy up to you. eat a lotta vegetables. but also remember to eat meat every now and then. 2. over time you will lose it. i've been trying to lose my gut for the past year and now it's finally getting slimmer. time is the key. ![]() hope this helps |

mostly people have been giving good advice. if anything, i'd suggest to have at least 5-7 small meals a day, and that includes breakfest, lunch and dinner. Those small meals in between the main courses helps your muslces and cells stay alive and healthy. Doing cardiovascular exercise will ONLY and I am SERIOUS here, will ONLY remove the fat. Eating carbs turns to sugar and can turn to fat if you are NOT working out, which obviously you are. I'd suggest doing more cardiovascular exercise: running, cycling, swimming, roller blading, etc. Getting your heart pumping gets your metabolism going which helps burn fat. However, how old are you? this can be a major factor in your body and what's going on.

3 times a week for exercising in gym with a scheduled program. glad to hear u're already doing that. overload it when u feel comfortable. take ur time, usually takes around 2 hrs. for me...
err... make sure u leave a day for resting after each workout. give time for resting, and muscle building. wat else... oh yeah, just all the routine stuff. enough rest, lodza water, healthy diet (make sure u eat). good luck |

The six-pack thing doesn't worry me. It's just the fact that I've been working out so long and I still can grab fat off my tummy =(. When I stand up I look fine, but when I sit it just bulges out -_-...

Try eating alternates to Chinese food. =) |
