my whole life toasters have always gotten a reaction out of me, even though i know that my food is going to pop up out at me i still JUMP!...i've literally just made toast for the purpose of proving to myself that i can keep my cool when it pops up, but i've never been able too.just..ahslfl
im just wondering if other people experience the same reaction >_>...

Do you watch it jump up or what? I'd say just sit somewhere where you don't see it.. and you'll just hear the sound of the toaster. It's not that scary.. maybe it's your toaster. Are you usually jumpy like this?

I haven't used the toaster in a long time! I should use it tomorrow. Nope, toasters don't scare me. Oh! I remember they made movies called, The Little Toaster. I think I actually own one of them..

I get startled when I'm watching the toaster, waiting for it to be done. But other times it doesn't because I'm in the living room watching tv. Sometimes, I pull the handle down father than what it's supposed to and I put a plate next to the toaster. The toast would then fly out of the toaster and land on my plate, it's so cool.

I don't have a toaster at home, but I remember last time when I slept at my friend's house, since they have a toaster, I jumped when the toast popped up haha.

haha, it's probably just a natural reation toward the pop! noise. I make toast a lot, and I think I just got used to it. Don't worry, keep trying!!

This is probably my favorite thread, god bless you for creating it. I flinch a lot when the toast pops out, even though I know that it's going to happen. Sometimes I'll forget that the toast is in there and it will pop out when I have my back towards the toaster. ermm.gif

I jump too. But once, when I was little.. I put half of a poptart I didn't finish in to heat up, and when it popped up, it went back down. I reached my hand in to get it, felt the hot metal, tried to pull my hand out, but ended up pushing down the thing to start it. Yeah. I got burned. Bad.
