The Chi. I don't scrunch my hair, though. I just use a curling iron. =)

i used to use a conair straigh tener, but it pulled out my hair and it reallt hurt pinch.gif but it dint pull out all of my hair so now i have an unaturally big number of flyaway hairs..but i put 5 gallons of hairspray on my hair everyday... ok so i guess a good kind of straightening iron is a flat iron..and then you put some kind of 'lotion' in your hair, and itll make it look choppy and 'peasy' *sp/??* but i think thats called climax or something like that...

using curling irons or straightning irons is bad for your hair...

i have naturally straight hair and if i want it to be pretty, i braid it after i take and shower (i usually take night showers) and then i sleep in the braids and take the braids out in the morning, then hair spray it.

To scrunch: After getting out of the shower take some shaping mousse and sort of grab your hair with the tips of your fingers and crunch it. Then use hairspray to hold. I have naturally curly hair so I just leave it.

If you want to scrunch your hair, you can use like gel or mousse when you hair is wwet and just run it through your hair and like squeeze it kind of? It's hard to explain!

if you want your hair wavy there are two good ways ..

scrunching is the more wet, outta the shower look. damp your hair, dont completely drench it otherwise the mousse or gel (whichever your using) will either come out .. dry frizzy .. or it wont work well. it just wont come out right. using a gel or mousse while your hair is wet in your hand .. (its good to use both just in case) from the bottom ends open&close in making a wrist type motion. [sorry with my wording lol].

P.S. if your hair is naturally pin-straight sometimes,
it might not work because of how straight your hair is.

----------------------------------------
braiding is another way to get your hair wavy. your hair doesnt always have to be wet when doing this, you could do it dry .. whichever you prefer. apply some anti-freeze creme on the strands your gonna work on then braid. leave it in for a few hrs .. its good if you wait overnight. then remove braids & spray it with hair spray, dont use gel cos if you run your fingers through your hair you could mess up the wavyness.

if you dont want the hard feel and you want it smooth-looking. before braiding your hair apply hair serum rather than anything else i mentioned above. overnight .. then remove braids. then spray very little hairspray, but enough that you
think will hold the braids in.

as for my straightening iron .. i have 'ceramic tool'
it works really well. but afterawhile it will really dry
out my hair & get it rough .. i learned putting hair
serum on each strand at a time before straigtening
it will get it smooth & soft. biggrin.gif

I've tried it before, but my hair is naturally bone straight, so it never stays, no matter how much gel or whatever crap I use.

the best is chi, but its also a bit pricy, however just go to your local sallys and say you want a super hot ceramic iron that is afordable, i have one that cost 70 and it straightens my hair just as great as the chi ( i know this cuz my friend has one and we straigtened on side of my hair with the chi and the other side with the one from sally, you couldnt tell the difference)

as for scrunching, just used gell in wet, yet almost dry hair and SCRUNCH!

i scrunch my hair but my hair is naturally wavy so it's a little easier for me.. but what i do is wen i get out of the shower i take my pieces of my weat hair and put it into a fist.. iono if that will help you.. if ur hair is really straight then put gel on to help it stay scrunched.. see if that works. sorry if it dont
