how do u reboot

How do u reboot ur computer and clear up your whole hard drive? my dad once did that..because there was a virus..and after he rebooted the whole comp..there were NO PROGRAMS in my user account. none. they all got removed. except IE. how do u reboot ur whole comp like as it was when u first started it?

maybe if you "de-frag" it. _unsure.gif i think that is what it is called. i think if you do that, it will take out all the unnecessary(sp?) files. _unsure.gif

you could do a system restore

if that doesnt work... you should try and looking in your program files and see if anything is in there if not you lost anyeverything :/

Put in your Windows CD that your computer should have come with. Then hit re-install.

System restore that comes windows doesn't work very well on viruses b/c the files that are infected may still be kept even after you restore... So! Best idea is to reformat your HD and install a fresh Operating System. x)

the computer term to start from scratch is "Reformat".
I would recommend System Restore since if their is a virus, it can just pass to the files you restored.

To completely remove the virus and to start from scratch, I would do a reformat which means you need to start your computer using a bootup floppy disk. Then you need to reformat (delete everything on your harddrive) then install your windows from windows cd.
