Making Announcements infront of the entire school, crazy announcements in particular Options

Ok, so at my school we have a specific time on Mondays and Fridays in which, for 15 minutes, the entire school comes into the quad (grassy spot in the middle of school) so students and staff alike can make announcements from the microphone infront of the school. such as sports games, awards, clubs, general info, or even moments of silence.

We call this Town Meeting.

most of the time people make pretty simple anouncements, but the varsity soccer team (which i am on) likes to make big elaborate crazy anouncements.

for example:

last year we reenacted the civil war, lining up and firing at each other using those party popping thigns that make a sound and shoot some confetti. 1812 overture was playign the background lol. we had abe lincoln come down and heal everyone with snoop dog's song come with me being played. damn that was crazy.


we also performed a human sacrafice. with gregorian chants being played lol.

this year:

we did the classic, run around all crazy for a minute wearing whatever the hell we could find. with zombie nation in the background.

then we did a battle, brave heart vs the romans rofl
braveheart people wore girl skirts, i wore llpurpleskyll ' s purple skirt.
we just ran at each other and fought for a few seconds then died. yes, they allow us to pretend kill each other.
the song that we played was that one at the beginning of the Jackass movie... dont know what its called.


our soccer team is known throughout the school for our announcements.
even if some people hate them.



i made a chinese week announcement with another guy. basically we choreographed a baboo stick fight scene then acted it out in front of the school. it was sweet, especially since the school cheers for you while you're fighting and after i died. lol



and to imagine that i can do all those things infront of the entire school, and i'm so shy i can't even ask a girl out... *SIGH*

hey at least tons of people come up to me and tell me what a good job i do, lol.

well the last announcement i had to do was when i was on the soccer team and since some how i was team captian that year so i had to do a speach about how we have accomplished so many things over the years and how we all changed and stuff and yeah i was really scared cause it was infront of like 600 people. but i did it. man was i scared.

i had to do that when i was my best friend's campaign manager who was running for the student council president!

she won, but i messed up alot. I have a stuttering problem, talking in front of the whole class or even one on one.

We don't do those anymore. Our principal makes the announcements like that on our P.A system.

OH! i DO do morning announcements. Its less nerve wrecking because no one is looking at you, but people are listening to you.

one time i messed up the pledge of allegience because it was my first time doing the morning announcements. I was so freaking nervous, and whaddya know? I SCREWD UP IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE SCHOOL!

when i went back into the class room, my teacher told me off, cause he's the biggest patriotic person you'll ever met!

wow your guyses announcements sound fun. well uhh we do announcements over the pa system and just these bunch of weirdo girls do them everyday. we find announcements annoying at my school because know one really cares. the only announcement anyone listened to was the one where they said you're allowed to use electronics like cels and cd players durin lunch and recess.

and we have announcements every morning during second period. i never listen, though! XD

all that we say is the events that will take place that evening. (games, stuff like that.) we also say awards or people that did good things at competitions, etc.

Are you in a drama class or what ? You sound pretty much in drama class.

My school usually have at least two annoucement from a teacher, principle, and every month. No one is not allow to make an annoucement unless the person have a permission to but so far, no kids start an anouncement in our school's history.

On the PA system by one of the 8th graders.

It's just the pldge and then some announcements like which teachers aren't here and school stuff.

We have announcements everyday, right after the bell rings for 2nd period. Not very exciting announcments. They're all pretty redundant, especially Mr. Aguilar's [vice-principal] infamous saying, "Do right, Don't do wrong."

i don't think i made any announcements... but in 6th grade i won some stuff (i forgot what, actually i don't know what because i didn't know english and i couldn't understand what people were saying), and i just went "thank you all."

nope, we don't have that, only the principal makes announcements oh yeah, channel 21 also gives announcements...but i guess that's pretty cool!
