Well, here's another vexel I've been working on. My fourth attempt actually. Experimented with a different style for this one.

Program Used: Adobe Photoshop CS
No. Layers: 140
Time spent: 2 days, on/off.

Suggestion, criticism, etc. are all welcome. I'm still working on improving so I'd greatly appreciate the feedback.

See if you can guess who I used as a subject for this one.

ohhh.... wow that looks amazing. i really like how the skin was done and the lips look great. thumbsup.gif i'm just being picky, but the ear looks detached from her head.

is the vector complete?

Most of her ear is actually covered by her hair.

Yes, its complete. Her neck and clothing on the original picture are to blurry and dark to be vectored.

Oh, and here is the original image:

I know it doesn't look exactly like her but I tried. It was a difficult image to work with.

Well, thank you. There is no huge difference between vectors and vexels, at least in quality. When you use either illustrator or photoshop, you're still using the same tools and the same technique. The only difference is in Photoshop, because its a raster based program, you cannot resize the image as you can in Illustrator.

So yeah, Illlustrator vectors are not necessarily better than Photoshop vexels. It really depends on the artist and their style.

Thanks but I can't really add more detail to hair that has very little detail to begin with. Just look at the original image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/poi...vy/anisha05.jpg

Holy, everything is so clean and precise. I agree with ^, it looks 3-d. O_O *goggle* Suggestions? Well, if you wanted to get really exactish about it, you could add that slight, soft hair that's on the edge of her forehead but since it's pretty unnoticeable [sp?] you could leave it. -_- *jealous*
