Bad memoreys raceing though my brain, Braceing my self to face another horable day, Where will my place be tomorrow if not today, Trying to get to one pace to another, All hope is lost , Faith is gone, This fullish felling is comeing back to me..

digital ash is more fun tongue.gif. i don't like how neither of the new albums have any orchestrated songs, like the ones he did on lifted and fevers & mirrors.

My username, picture, and signature says it all.

My signature is from the little story he tells in the beginning of At the Bottom of Everything on I'm Wide Awake. I love it.

Conor Oberst is amazing and has so much talent.
I'm Wide Awake and Digital Ash are both beautiful.
Fevers and Mirrors is my favorite album though.

There's no all of the above button! So I chose The Used, sicne I've been on a Used fix lately... even though I haven't gotten their new album yet. Their last one was the best. Bright Eyes is great also, but I've only heard a few of his old songs. Conor Oberst is a very talented writer. He's been all over the magazine stands. There's not one magazine without him these days. It's a shame that the whole scene's soon going to be corrupted by the likes of MTV. Matchbook Romance I havent listened to for a while now, but they're pretty good. Hawthorne Heights' music is good too. Pretty much everyone but TBS. I'm not too fond of TBS... I'm not sure why.

agreed. center of the world has to be one of the best songs ever written. i'm surprised that wide awake is the number two album on itunes. i'm fearing what i'm going to see when this week's billboard charts come out ph34r.gif.

his lyrics are godly.

my favorite band on there would probably be underoath or matchbook romance. i wouldnt be able to choose anyway.

Yeah, He's number one now. But I don't think he will ever be mainstream popular and even if he did it probably wouldn't affect him. Haha, I left a comment on your xanga about this. I'm btwnlove_hate.

On Fevers and Mirrors I think my favorite song is The Calendar Hung Itself.
Center of the World is amazing though.

yeah, i thought that was from you. thanks. and wow... number one. itunes DOES have a lot of the err... "trendy/slighty underground/cool" music in it's top 100 though, so no worries. i think i'm wide awake has a sound that's a lot more approachable than his previous albums, which may be why it's doing SO well....

Yeah, I think so too. As you can see Digital Ash isn't even on that list, though it is amazing none the less. I think that Wide Awake is just more, shall we say, 'normal' for the majority of people to accept. Digital Ash isn't something everyone would love. I know it sounds weird, haha. It's alright, you can tell Conor Oberst is a kind of kid who is going to be writing great music for the rest of his life. happy.gif

haha, totally.

in class today i checked where he debuted on billboard, and wide awake is at number 10, while digital ash is at 15. i was extremely surprised, and a little pissed to say the least. oh well, at least he is getting proper recognition now.

also agreed. the lyrics are amazing on i'm wide awake, but i wished he would've made the actual music more orchestrated instead of folky. oh well.

well i mean, of course he's always been folky but... on lifted and fevers and mirrors it was more orchestrated with a little bit of folk-ness, if you get what i'm saying. i'm wide awake basically threw out the whole orchestrated element and completely embraced the folky sound, or at least that's what i'm hearing.

matchbook romance deserves more respect. They've released two great albums consecutively, and I hope they keep going. They are a great band!
