NO! Don't move this to the request place. Lol, I don't want a layout.
I got two requests already on my xanga and they have no idea who I am. They start giving out details with "I want this, I want that". There are no thank yous. They probably don't even know my name. (Although my xanga IS my name)... Anyway, for those non layout request takers, do you get these? I've had a couple on some of my recent entries and it's like wtf?? I'm sure Trish and Roxanne are piled with these..but they're probably used to it. When will they stop?

Well..people don't ask me to make them a layout, but they IM me and ask me for a certain code sometimes, but I just decide to give the code to them. But I'd never make a layout for someone that I didn't even know.

yeah..i used to help people with xanga's...i don't make layouts or anything but i just help them with codes and things...i dont get a thanks that often either =/ some people just randomlly i.m. cuz htey just see me here and talk to me for a few minuits...then all of a sudden "can you make me a layout!" *sigh*

i think what people don't get is that if i really spend time to make a layout, i won't want to just give it away. I rather use it and summit it to cb than just giving it to a random person i don't know. I will help you with your question but i think you should at least try to learn. It sounds selfish but yeah, i am.

when i first got all of my skins accepted, people would come to my site to ask for layouts! i got like 10 people in all!
 i was also getting like 30 eprops and then i put SORRY, NO MORE SKIN REQUESTS on my siggy and no one came anymore!

No, I don't get requests for layouts, probably because I only started started making layouts not too long ago. I did get some comments and IMs about codes and stuff. I do help them, but sometimes it's annoying. Some people used to ask me for codes and to constantly check out their xanga to make sure if they put it in right. Yeah, it is rude.

Yes, I know the feeling. What pisses me off is that I've stated all throughout my Xanga that I am not taking requests but as I've learned, most Xangans don't read. What's worse is when I tell them no, they get mad and say stupid things like "stop making layouts then if you're not gonna take people's requests" or "fine, i don't like your layouts anyway" or simply "f**k you bitch". It still stings when they do that, but I try to shrug it off cuz I'm sure that there are far more people who are appreciative.
And to answer your question, they will never stop unless you put it on your Xanga site in bold, 72px, saying "I DO NOT TAKE SKIN REQUESTS". What's sad is that I'm sure some will still ask.... |

i never got any "can you make me a layout?" messages but some people would IM me and ask "how do you make a website?" or something. so i'm like "well, i certainly didn't IM someone that question. what i did was search for some sites that offer HTML lessons or something. maybe you should do that too?
" i hate it when that happens. because if i want to know something, i just search the internet myself. not ask someone. though sometimes you should ask too but what if you're disturbing them? this is just common sense

yeah i have had a few people ask me before.. this is recently too since i learned how to make the layouts i make lol :) anyways i dont mind doing it as long as they are appreciative of it and say thank you and keep my link. sometimes i make good ones and dont wana give them away... but i do.. bleh thats life . but if someone is asking for stupid stuff like clouds or butterflys i wont do it. they have to have pictures, and colors they want ready if they want a layout from me and i'll do the designing :) you should be firm and strict...

That's why I don't take request from strangers cause they sometimes don't say Thank you. One time I was making a layout for this person cause he was requesting for it. Well it was a Blink 182 layout. He gived me the pictures and what he wants the layout to be. So after the next 2 days, I give him the layout code. Then I went to his xanga just to check up on him if he still has my layout for like the next day... and my layout is not even there. So I was so pissed and asked him "Why aren't you using my layout? If you didn't want to use it. What's the point for requesting me in the first place?" and he says "Well.... I wanted to use different picture cause I didn't like the picture I gived to you." I was sooooooooooooooo mad. I was like "WhAT?!?! You should've told me that while I was working on it!!" I was soo freaking mad. I hate THOSE PEOPLE!
YOU MAKE THEIR LAYOUTS, BUT THEY NEVER USE IT AND GIVE US A STUPID EXCUSE! gosh..... so yeah i always make layout on my own these days... but people can take it, but NO REQUEST!! and guess what? he didn't even say THANK YOU... or SORRY. #$*#$*&($&@*(#&@*(#&@*(#&@*(#&@*(#&*(@#&@*(&#*(@&#*!(&@!&^@&*!@^&*!@ |

eh. i got a few emails, but those people were really sweet about it. i turned down all except one, which was a vector layout, mainly b/c i liked the picture.
problem was that i never got to it and the request was made in november. she's still asking me for it and i feel really bad. it's b/c my illustrator stopped working and i needed to figure out corel. maybe i'll try it again. >< |

Yeah, I have that AIM privacy thing also. Protecting xanga is impossible because then they'll go to my other xanga.
And Susan. Breathe and calm down. :]  Lol, I know what you're talking about. I made a banner a couple months ago. After I finished making it, the requester comes back to me and replies with, "Nevermind! My friend is going to make it for me!" I'm like "WTF, YOU better fcuking use this!" Grr.

They'll stop whenever they learn that requesting layouts is for lazy people. I make my own, but they suck. Which I am proud for because I don't get lots of layout requests! I get some.. but it's usually for defaultish layouts.
