9th grade formal-ADVICE NEEDED, i havent been asked yet Options

Our 9th grade formal is Feb 25.. like all of my friends have dates and i dont.. they want me to go.. but i told them that i wasnt going to go if i didnt have a date, b/c being a wallflower isnt exaclty my definition of a good time. Ive given hints to a few guys that i wanted them to ask me but i gues they either are planning on asking someone else.. or just didnt understand them...
Some of my guy friends keep telling me that someone will ask and not to worry about it.. but im a teenage girl.. i worry about these things.. and i really think that there is no hope for anyone asking me! What do i do?

well.. we don't have a 9th grade formal... but our 8th grade formal... just go by yourself, Allll of your friends have a date? I mean like, every last one of them? I went to my 8th grade formal myself, and I had the best effin time!

I'm sorry it wasn't the best advice... but that's what I would do. =D

I feel your pain. I have a formal Feb. 12 and I haven't been asked either. I've been talking to a few guys though, maybe you should try that. And if all else fails, go with a friend. That's what I'm doing if I can't get a date.

i didn't have a date for formal either, people'll just be too absorbed in themselves, they won't care, act carefree, if not, just don't go and throw an excuse

i think you should just ask someone yourself, maybe that guy is hesitating to ask you b/c hes scared of rejection or something...maybe he's feeling what you're feeling right now. take the chance, hahaha...yeah, i hope it goes well for you!

thanx for all the advice.. im still hoping to get more.. i dont wanna ask someone cause ya kno im shy too.. plus its my first danc of high school.. i want a guy to ask me i kno im a hopeless case... i dont wanna go with no date cause ill be a wallflower... all of my really good close friends have dates so they will be with their dates most of the time.. me and my friend matt already decided that if we couldnt find dates then well sit on the computer by ourselves while everyones at the dance and talk to eachother about how bored we are and how much of losers we are for not getting dates... lol

being shy seems like a good idea, but if your too shy and not outgoing, then a guys not going to want to ask you.. plus all of my guy friends kno im NOT shy
like i said earlier.. i dont wanna ask someone b/c its my first high school dance EVER and i want a guy to ask me, i dont wanna go alone because then ill just be standing around or sitting at a table in a very uncomfortable dress... my friends have dates some dont but im not gonna go with a group of girls because the night is supposed to be mainly spent with your date... which is SPOSED o be a guy

hey, i know how your feeling. We are having a sophmore/freshman banquet next month and i didnt have a date and wasnt planning on going without one (because it truly does suck)..so i just ended up asking someone, thats one think you could do.

but for winterball which was last month..i wasnt planning on attending it because i didnt have a date, and then this guy totally suprised me and asked me to it. so you never know what can happen.

yea it sux when there's a big dance coming up and no one has asked u but i went with a big group of my friends and it was the best time ever. its way easier cause then there isnt any tense and there is bound to b a guy there who doesnt have a date and who knows some one u like may ask u out. no offense, but that sounds really dumb. i went to my first highschool formal w/ friends and it was awesome. who said that going stag wouldnt be fun. why do you want a guy to ask you so bad? is it that bad to ask someone yourself? and don't give me the "it's my first highschool dance" crap. that's not even a good reason. a dance doesnt mean that you spend the night w/ a frkkn date. jeez.
