okay I wasn't really sure where to put this topic so i Chose the lounge...

Well, today I went to the MLK center in Atlanta to listen to people who have been fighting for civil rights in America and also in other countries like Guatmala (sp?) and Burma(sp?). Well my friend Paige and I are really into the whole idea of a better world. Some say we might end up helping the world in a big way, right now thats only a dream for me, but anyways two panelist talked about how even being in America, they were tortured, raped, beaten, or inslaved (and yes there is modern day slavery). So after getting off the bus we (meaning me and Paige) went to go talk to one of the world history teachers, who is really striaght forward, and we had a disscussion about our saftey, and I was just thinking, are, were or have anyone of you ever felt unsafe in the U.S.?

oh and sorry for my mispellings, hope there wasn't a trouble reading what i typed...

That's good that you guys are willing to help out the community out there who needs help. Anyways if God is not with me, then I'm not safe. If God is with me. I'm safe.

Yes I do feel safe. I find it sad that some people feel unsafe in the United States because I'm sure they would think otherwise if they were to live in a 3rd world country.

If you don't feel safe then I suggest you go to Africa where you can easily contract malaria because it's so much "safer" there.

I feel safe where I live, yes, but on the other hand. No one could really be safe from anything, right? There are so many accidents waiting to happen, and so many disasters waiting to be experienced.
Jeez. I sound so paranoid. huh.gif But yes, I do feel safe.

Well, I usually do feel safe. However, I do get somewhat paranoid if I go out for a walk at night or if I'm in a bad neighborhood. But yeah, generally I do feel safe. You never really know, though. Anything could happen, and the thought of that does frighten me. _unsure.gif

hmm... i feel like bumping this happy.gif

and... YES.

the security in this country is harsh and it sucks---especially at airports, but it works

it's a hell of a lot safer than other countries like... afghanistan or indonesia.

i used to live in indonesia... traveled a lot as a kid.

it's like... the scariest thing ever pinch.gif

hey, you went to school with that girl from spanish class!

anyway, not really. though if i don't sleep soon, it's likely to have nasty side effects

kidding

anyway, i like to think i'm safe. paranoia won;t get me anywhere, so i may as well be optimistic

I don't think one can worry about their safety on a daily basis. Anywhere in the world there are myriad ways to die, so it's not worth wondering what the chances of it happening are. Taking common-sense safety procedures is enough to not make me worry.
