Gosh... I just had abig fight with my parents saying that they wont let me wear flip flops to school (its allowed in the dress code). They said it makes me look like i live in a trailer. They also said that it does matter what people think about how you dress and stuff. AHH! What do you guys think? Or what should I do?

That's really weird. Everyone wears them...in the summer. It's also kinda weird you're making the post while it's still winter. Anyways, just wear em. Stick them in your backpack & put em on at school. Such a rebel.

If I were you I'll pack them in my backpack then wear them when I get to school. But of course sandals are prohibited at my school unless it has a strap on the back of your foot and you also have to wear socks.

i had the same thing happen with my parents last year i think. they said something about how it doesnt respect school or whatever even though everyone where them. they also said something about how in thailand everybody wears uniform and it just looks.. dirty i guess. it was more of a conflict with my dad rather than my mom. now they dont really care though.
i dk.. i kinda got their points at the time but i still put them in my backpack and switched them at school..

flip flops, lol. In Hawaii we call them slippers, and they dont denote being poor here. Theyre extremely common. slippers have nothing to do with respect or wealth here, its all about comfort, and theyre really easy to put on and take off.

That's harsh... I personally wouldn't wear flip flops right now since it's winter but I see a bunch of girls at my school still wearing flip flops and I am like woah! I am cold enough - wth do they feel like?!?!? My friend's grandma doesn't like her wearing flip-flops. Her grandma threw away her pair of flip flops, so for Christmas, I got her a new pair. But after two weeks since school started, her flip flops have gone missing, meaning either her sister took it or most likely her grandma threw it away again.
