i searched slang but only 4 things unrelated to this showed up

the slang these days is ridiculous, like copying someone as in style or something, why do people say biter? "she's such a biter" or "blank is such a biter of blank" do people not realize how stupid that sounds? it's like what? she bit that person? huh.gif

"it's mad brick outside" is it really that difficult to say cold? it sounds like it's raining bricks outside or there are lots of brick houses outside

"we stoged outside" just say smoked...stoged sounds stupid as well

plus, i browse xangas sometimes and "ghetto" new yorkers say theyre from "enYce" i look at that and automatically think, "you idiot, you can't be from a brand, just say nyc"

can you people think of anymore? and if you do use this kind of slang, why??

wellz, sometimes we just like usin it to say it in a different way cuz the word we use in slang sounds better than the original so we just use it. some of it could be a good word to clown someone. oh and yes, some sounds very stupid. scoped? never heard that before. mad brick? never heard that either

for the most part i think its annoying, but other times i think its kinda funny. when i was in 8th grade we used to say "biter" it was funny. =]P

i havent heard of the other ones...i guess different places have different slang words.

occasionaly people at my school say oober. like "thats oober cool" i guess its german for super or something. x]P i just think its hilarious tho. cuz it used to be a semi "cool" thing to say. now people just make fun of it, and laugh at it. tongue.gif

definition from dictionary.com
slang n.
A kind of language occurring chiefly in casual and playful speech, made up typically of short-lived coinages and figures of speech that are deliberately used in place of standard terms for added raciness, humor, irreverence, or other effect.

definition from urbandictionary.com
1. Slang
The ever-evolving bastardization of the written and spoken language as a result of social and cultural idolization of uneducated, unitelligable celebrities.
"Aw shnap, son. Check out the fine ass sho-tee rockin' all dat ice."

Translation: Hello, my good sir. Take a gander at the beautiful woman wearing the expensive jewels.

I hate it when people say something "rocks my face off." no, it doesn't. It cannot rock your face off. Nor can it rock your sox off, but at least that rhymes. But your face? uhhhh no.

I also hate kthanx or kthanxbye. Written or spoken. Somone said it on the bus last night, and I spasmed and went on a 10 minute rant. It was a whole lot longer than it had to be because at the same time the same girl kept going on about how she was the smartest person she knew because she found away to change on the bus. Plus there was the interlude about what it means to "freeball it." It was very much amusing.

I heard someone on Making The Band say that someone was "Icy" and Courtney and I looked it up on Urban Dictionary and one of the example sentances said "I tried talking to that girl but she was so icy."

Well it depends who says the slang. After reading this topic i didnt respond, instead i went to school and asked 2 people to say "Fo shizzle mah nizzle"

Try 1 : Subject : Nerd
Me: Say it!
Nerd: i prefer proper english.
Me: Say it and ill let you define terminal velocity for me (joke)
Nerd: ok what the heck. Fo... shishzll mai nisszle.

Try 1 : Subject : African American
Me: Say it!
Him: come on chinese man lets go, ill beat the shit out of you right now
Me: ermmm....do i know you? I'm just asking you a questoin
Him: of course you do boy you be talkin shit bout me yesterday at lunch
Me: huh...i think you are talking about the kid over there
Him: bullshit, you knows you chinese people all look alike with yo beady little eyes, no trying to get him in trouble, i know its you
Me: ok first, that "guy" is a girl, and second..i wasnt here yesterday *wink*
Him: OH you afraid to fight come on, BRING IT
Me: ......and i suppose slaping your man boobs over and over again is supposed to make me afraid? pshh
Him: *WHACKs me in stomach*
Me: ugh. god. *breathe* HOOOKAY.

I tried again later and he said sorry cuz "it werent you talkin shit bout me" and it sounded fine when he said it. ~~

using slang is suppose to make you have a bit of style, it depends how you use it, like if you were to use it in humor or just being stupid liek how snoop dog said on a commercial: fo `shizzle akazzile. I use it to be short, and fast.

Regional slang and colloquialism are fine by me. My problems are accents that are hard to understand and 'typin lyk dis, mafukkaz!!111!'

Variations for saying, "How are you doing, my friend," in the worlds that I've lived in...

Delaware (HOME)- "Whats good, fam?"

Florida- "What it is, cuzzin?"

Texas- "What it do pa'tna?"

Maybe its just me, but the further south you go, the less slang seems to make sense.

Douchebag isn't slang, though. It's like me calling you a vaginal secretion. Its not slang, its just an insult.

You just made yourself sound like an idiot. Get right, kid.

I think there's a bigger issue here...

Slang only seems to recognized as an urban phenomena that has infiltrated white america. Its not just a style of talk used by 'those black rappers,' everyone has their own form of slang. To say that "slang is stupid" is calling yourself a moron that doesn't deserve education and should be afforded the opportunity to make clothing in the Phillipines at gunpoint.

Dude is slang.

Bro is slang.

Man is slang.

Anything you say in a playful and casul manner is slang. Don't be idiots and 'diss the way you, your family and your friends speak to each other.

I'm not that familiar with slangs in English, but most Cantonese slangs are quite acceptable except those which are rude towards other people.

Lately, I've been hearing some girls speak chat in my school. Someone cracks a joke, a girl will yell out "lol!" Is it seriously that hard to actually laugh? Then someone said this really insane statistic and this other girl shouts out "stfu!". I get so mad that these girls are basically ruining every other girls' reputation or outlook on things.
Really, though. Don't they understand how stupid they sound shouting letters out loud?
