I hope this doesn't count as advertising, because I've tried Skype and I think it's pretty good so I decided to share it here. happy.gif

Skype is a program like other chat messengers, except its main feature is using audio instead of typing. It doesn't take up as much memory as other messengers when having audio, and it sounds just like you're talking on the phone without any hiccups. Moreoever, you don't really need to pay (except for your Internet connection).

Now you can chat freely with your Internet buddies without knowing their phone number, just a username. wink.gif Signing up is easy too.

Oh BTW, it has these funny phone sounds which are so funny XP

You can download it here.

I hope you'll enjoy using Skype as much as I do _smile.gif

Or anyone has it already? You can also share here about what you think of Skype.

yeah, it's pretty cool. but it only allows up to 4 people to talk, that's why i'm keeping Teamspeak, although, with Teamspeak, someone has to set up a server.

could you talk to more than one person at a time?

if you could, wouldn't that be confusing?

That would be the same as 3-way (or more) on the phone.

Teamspeak serves a different function, though. Teamspeak is more like a radio almost, whereas Skype is more like a telephone.

I tried it, I didn't really use it that much because only a few of my friends had microphones.

Not that there are any 3-way charges on free nights/weekends, which is what we do anyway..

I love skype! :D I use it to talk to my dad, who lives in Singapore. (I live in NY.) It's really useful because we used to use these annoying calling cards that we had to pay for, but Skype's both easy and free...and convenient, since we're both computer freaks.

Skype's awesome.

Oh, I kept hearing Skype everywhere and I needed a good definition of it. This cleared things up for me. Thanks. It sounds fun, but I'm not good at talking. I'm the queen of awkward silence.
