I'm not quite sure which forum to put this in.. but, the main topic of this idea:

You and your best friend, along with your family has gone on a vaction to South East Asia right before the tragic tsunami. You learn your family is dead and only your friend and yourself survived. Back in America, your friend tells you she knew about the tsunami. Would you be mad at her/him for not telling you and your family before the deaths?

My friend asked me this question, and I was speachless... no answer. What are your replies? sad.gif

well i would really be upset at him/her for not telling me..she caused the death of my loved ones and many others..she could've at least shared her thoughts....so of course i would be mad at my friend back in America!

a) Tsunamis are UNPREDICTABLE.
b) You wouldn't know about it unless you were there to see the water current.
c) If that truly were to happen, then what kind of friend is she putting your family and yourself in danger? (but I highly doubt this optionthingy.)

Yeah, i know alot of people say tsunamis are unpredictable, but on the news a 10 year old had learned about tsunamis and they said that she warned the people of a village before it happened, because she saw the water on the beach dissapear. The people survived because they were able to evacuate.

I'd be really upset, but this is impossible. No one knew about the tsunami..the only warning they had was an earthquake 4 minutes before the huge tsunami hit.

I actually knew someone who passed away. My former 11th grade latin teacher (im now in college). She was in Indonesia adopting a 6 month old baby when the earthquake and tsunami happened. Both her and the baby passed away cry.gif

wait, this doesn't make sense. If your friend knew about the tsunami, why would she go there herself? Anyways, IF that really happened, yes, i would probably be mad at her.

oh my god that is soo horrible. to think that she had gone all the way over there to give a child with a poor family a life is just sp great and then she died--im so sry.

also, that death toll is like 150,000 that is so sad, its just incredible that someting that killed that many people has just happened.

im just thankful that it was a natural disaster. bc with the way the world is right now, we cant really afford to have any more attacks or bombings like that . that is the only upside to this crazy natural disaster

R.I.P. tsunami victims. sad.gif

if the person knew and didn't tell me, then they wouldn't be my friend...anymore HAHAHAAHA.

no, but really, i'd be mad and demand an explination for why they wouldn't tell me.

On a side note:
my math teacher was saying how some circus elephants Thailand, (i think) ,sensed the earthquake broke out of their cages, and ran inland and survived.

and also. this isn't true anymore, but, at the time Bill Gates donated $3 million, he had donated more than Germany, rofl

I would just be confused.. I'd probably get really annoyed with her, how can she know about the tsunamis in the first place? IF you're saying IF tsunami's were predictable, then wouldn't they have been already predicted by other people? Then everyone in the tsunami-attacked area would have evacuated, there would have been no vacation and no one would have died. IF the tsunamis were predictable.
