GIANT anti-spyware software was bought by Microsoft a little while back.

I decided to try it out myself, though I was skeptical (i'm starting to like microsoft less and less each day).

Let me tell you guys, it works great. I scanned with spybot, no entries were found. Afterwards, I scanned with GIANT, and immediately, several entries were found.

For those who have spyware problems, it good to have more than one spyware detector. If you need a good one, GIANT is a good choice.

You can download a demo here: http://tucows.nyi.net/adnload/377898_140319.html

[edit]This is the pre-microsoft version. microsoft is retooling their version of the software.
[edit2]The scan finished, spybot missed a whopping 42 infected files. It does take a while to finish, almost 20 minutes for me, while Spybot only takes 5.

But getting to the point, what do you think about Microsoft's acquisition? Are they trying to monopolize or are they only just concerned with your security.

My opinion is, if they are really concerned with security, they should fix the loopholes in IE that allow the spyware to get there in the first place.

This is why I'm using mozilla suite, rather than IE. Hopefully, MS will improve the IE code, which hasn't been updated since 2001.

i dont dl much stuff on the internet unless it's directly from companies.

i can't find it on anywhere on that website. hope it's pretty cheap so i can afford it. or i'll just stick with my adaware personal. _smile.gif

yah. i agreed with you. they are trying to fix the security problems on windows/ie. it's a big thing for them, because firefox is overtaking the net already.
