i did on the earthquake one... that ones the hardest. My science teacher told me that if I did the project really well, then he'll give me a good grade with an extra credits to it. But in the end, I didn't finish it cause it was too much. I wanted to change, but then I couldn't turn back. I did so much and researched so much information. It was hard for me, it would be very cool if you finished that project. My title was like "How do they predict earthqaukes"

Oooo do an experiment.. it's really easy, you just have 3 little cars.. and then you have a big piece of cardboard, and on the carboard, you put three types of terrain on it and see which terrain uhm... makes the car go faster. You put the carboard slanted.

Wait, is this homework or what?

I seperated water and hydrogen. It was fun. Got an A.

It was fun seperating. Because to test out that it work properly, I had to light my test tube on fire!

For my science project one year i did this..
"does music help you with your math?"

except i forgot what i named it, somethan more professional haha.
but basically i made up 6 diff math tests, and then used my lil brothers 5th grade class to take these tests...the first time without music...the second time with rock...the third time with rap...the 4th time with classical...the 5th time with slow contemoporary...the 6th time with christian...you can make as many catagories as you want...i think if i remember correctly that classical music was the best, cuz all of them scored higher on their tests or whatever and the average of the class was higher..i dunno it was a fun project lol.

I merged THREE science project ideas topics together.

Guys, before posting a topic, please utilize the search button. It is understandable when a forum is packed with so many topics and finding an existing one takes time, but the Homework forum is VERY new, and as we all can observe, there are not that many topics to cover.

Please try to LOOK around first before creating a new, yet already posted, topic.

Experiement with the fact that Newton said that "All things fall at the same rate."
Well does it? No.
Test it out with a notebook.. and a paper and find out from there.

dry using different types of liquids to grow plants.. it's sorta like the classic growing bean sprout thing.. but instead, let the experimental group use different types of liquid such as soda, vinegar, soap, etc etc, and see what happens.. note the approximate pH of each types of liquid u use.. and see how the bean sprout react to it..

OR, you can get some plants, and for the control, find the most neutral soil u can find.. and water the plant with distilled water.. and then do more basic soil, water it w/ acidic water, distilled water, and basic water.. and also acidic soil, and do the same.. see how the plants grow.. say u've noticed how with air pollution causing our rain water to be so acidic, how can our plants still survive on this mildly acidic rain?

at what percentage can people taste sugar in water and salt in water. like you have a lot of bottles and they have the same amounts of water, but in each one you add an increasing amount of sugar or salt. have people taste the one with the least sugar/salt, then increasing..and see at which one they can taste the sugar/salt. i dunno..it worked for me..lol.

tsunami ones a good idea, but how would u go about building a tsunami?! lol
um idk. if u have pets u could do something wif that- like i saw one thing in a sci-fair project book that was like how 2 c if ur pets are right/left handed, and c if all cats r right handed or all dogs r left handed or sumthin...
u could always do a survey of somethin, thats easy. "how many hours do u spend on hw and wut kinda grades do u get?" and then make a conclusion: "it seems that only kids who spend 4 hours on hw get good grades etc etc"
that alwayz worx
good luk!

Then i made 3 weather instruments out of everyday things. took down the readings it would give me for a week and then later compared it to readings from the weather channel to see how accurate my readin was.

Oh. I just remembered one I did in the 4th grade. I burned paper, wood, and cotton ( not in the school, I video taped it in my house). I found what burned faster and I explained why. Maybe that could be useful?

do something that could help the world... don't do something that would satisfy your own interest. one of the la county sci. fair's winners involved harnessing energy from wind.
