Not by myself...it's soooo not the way to go. My friend did and it got insanely infected. Not a smart move - and there's really no way to make it not hurt, it's gonna hurt either way. Plus, you really don't know HOW to do it, it takes more than just a needle. You need to find the CORRECT place to do it otherwise it'll get messed up. Do *not* try by yourself...seriously, just go somewhere...

OMG DONT PIERCE IT YOURSELF. That is the worst thing to do. You increase your risk of getting a serious infection, plus you have to have a hollow needle to do it anyways. My sister had hers done and had it done professionally, she said that it did not hurt however it made this disgusting pop noise when he put the needle thru. Also...getting your belly button pierced is so overrated. Everyone and their sister has it done.

My mom wouldnt let me get it pierced til I was 15. But I wanted it pierced when I was 13. So I did it myself. BAD IDEA. It hurt so bad, but yet I pierced it every morning when I woke up for about 6 months. It left bad scarring. So I waited until I was 15 and sure enough, my mom took me to go get it pierced professionally. Don't pierce it yourself.

Haha. my friends tried piercing their belly button by themselves. don't do it because you can get a bad infection or a really bad scar. talk to your parents about it & ask if you can get it pierced professionaly.

HAH!
It's Christiana. XD

--

Anyway, I've never pierced myself... by myself before.
I imagine that would hurt like hell, and you're more at risk for a bad infection because you can't sterilize things as well as you can if you do that for a living. [shrugs]

I don't have any advice. mellow.gif Sorry.

I want mine done really bad..uhm, I don't suggest doing it yourself, that could lead to various problems, such as infection. I suggest going to a professional, or someone who has done it at least a few times, because my friends have gone to one, and they said it barely hurt.

I've had mine peirced. By a professional. With my mom standing next to me holding my hand. That was two months ago. It hurts very little, but thats because its so quick. Also I have a pretty high pain tolorence.

Never peirce it youself! There is this vessel near your navel, that can be poped if its hit, and can get infected. Just ask your parents, I started buging my mom with it when I turned 13, now in three months I'll be 14 and I want to get my ears peirced some more, I have seven but I want more!

Also be careful; its easy to become addicted to peircing. rolleyes.gif

Just...stick it in there. Biting down on an old sock helps cease the screaming.

I have mine done but I had someone do it that knew what they were doing. I wouldn't try doing it on your own. A friend of mine did her's herself and messed it all up. She didn't get enough skin because it hurt so after she got it in finally within 3 weeks it got infected very bad and fell out with the scab. Now she has a scar it's not very noticable but when she tans. I only paid around 50.00 to have mine done and I didn't have any problems. That was almost 4 years ago and it still looks just as good. (knock on wood, lol) One more thing whenever you do go and have it done or even a tat make sure you know the place good. Find out everything you can about it. Just to be on the safe side watch them open ever instrument they use to make sure they are not using an old needle. Most of them don't do that but I've heard of some places that still are. So just watch and make sure you have a friend go with you. I know I know I'm a worry wart but I can't help it. Hope everything works out for you. Take care and good luck.... biggrin.gif

I got mine pierced when I was 14. I had to try hard and convince my parents to give consent. Don't pierce it yourself. It will most likely come out looking ugly and you obviously don't know anything about taking care of it. It's not like an ear piercing. I say leave it to the professionals.

One of my best friends pierced hers by herself, and it got all infected and stuff pinch.gif and she didn't do it right, and now it looks all nasty, so she just let it close up, and just got it done professionally...which you should do too! if ur rents won't let you get one done, then just wait til ur 18. 18, isn't that far off...I mean u shouldn't be getting ur belly button pierced if ur like 12 neway. so lol just b patient about it. Don't do it by urself, that's just nasty

i've done a lot of my piercings by myself such as my earlobes, helix (ear cartilage) and my eyebrow. i do have my bellybutton pierced but i got it done professionally because in order to get your bellybutton pierced, you have to be lieing down flat so u can get it pierced in the right position so that it suites your body. however, i couldnt look at my bellybutton and lie down flat at the same time so i didnt pierce my own bellybutton. plus, you need a professional piercing needle, which is not the same as a normal needle cuz its especially made for piercing and its hollow. i say that piercing your own bellybutton is a bad idea. if you dont use a proper needle, it'll hurt like a bitch.
